Diz-se que “a Necessidade é a Mãe da Invenção” – se isto é um facto, poderemos provavelmente afirmar que “a Crise é a Mãe da Inovação” e, associar o Design à Inovação, traduz-se numa fórmula poderosa para a Prosperidade Renovável. À escala da Comissão Europeia dá-se grande relevo a esta fórmula para se atingir um crescimento económico que se demonstre compatível com o Desenvolvimento Sustentável. O enfoque deste Workshop está na demonstração das oportunidades de intervenção no meio edificado, que contribuem para a prosperidade económica e, simultaneamente, para uma franca melhoria do desempenho energético ambiental dos edifícios. If it can be said that “Necessity is the Mother of Invention” then it must be true to say that “Crisis is the Mother of Innovation”. There is no formula more powerful and renewable than one bringing together the best of Design and Innovation – the European Commission is relying on this very formula to obtain economical growth compatible with sustainable development. This Workshop focuses on demonstrating intervention opportunities in the built environment that contribute simultaneously to economical prosperity and the improvement of the energy environmental performance of the built environment. The Workshop’s target audience is all decision makers who influence the quality of the built environment.
