Concentra-se sobre interligações e formas de atração dos eventos e objetos artísticos, desen-volve-se a partir de uma reflexão sobre a criação interdisciplinar e privilegia projetos fundados na ideia de comunidade criativa. Interessa-se por projetos artísticos e curatoriais que se relacionem e cruzem com o teatro, o cinema, a música, o vídeo, a performance e a poesia, em separado ou em simultâneo. O espaço será produzido a partir da arquitetura performática do coletivo EXYZT/ConstructLab com coordenação de Alex Roemer; acolherá o projeto Sonores – Sound | Space | Signal e a residência do coletivo SOOPA; e contará com o design editorial da dupla Barbara Says..., assim como outros projetos convidados.

It is concentrated on the interconnections and forms of attraction of artistic events and objects, and takes place starting from a reflection on interdisciplinary creation, focusing especially on projects founded on the idea of the creative community. It deals with artistic and curator-ship projects that are related to and cross over into the theatre, the cinema, music, video, performance and poetry, whether separately or simultaneously. The space will be produced through the performance architecture of the EXYZT collective/ ConstructLab groups, coordinated by Alex Roemer; it will house the Sonores – Sound | Space | Signal project within a residence by the artists collective SOOPA; and its editorial design will be by Barbara Says..., as well as many other guest projects.

Um dia que inaugura uma nova dimensão criativa que se oferece à cidade, dando a conhecer uma infraestrutura importante, o Instituto de Design, e vários projetos de intervenção urbana que abarcam áreas como a fabricação digital, o turismo criativo ou a revitalização de áreas urbanas desconsideradas. Um programa aliciante que conta com os eventos seguintes.

A new creative dimension within the city will be inaugurated on 23 March, as a major new infrastructure is unveiled – the Instituto de Design (De-sign Institute) – together with various urban intervention projects, covering areas such as digital manufacturing, creative tourism and revitalization of underprivileged urban zones. Um projeto que intervém em locais desconsiderados e vazios, propondo, através da criatividade, a sua reabilitação e revitalização. Um conceito que consiste na sua apropriação temporária, encorajando os criativos a participar de forma colaborativa, os habitantes a valorizar as suas propriedades, os visitantes a interagir, a cidade a experimentar novas leituras e a criar novos públicos.

A project that intervenes in empty and abandoned zones, suggesting a creative approach for their rehabilitation and revitalization. A concept which consists of the temporary appropriation of such spaces, encouraging creative talent to work collaboratively, local inhabitants to value their properties, visitors to interact and the city to try out new interpreta-tions and create new audiences.

New projects will bring a revitalized outlook to the city that will expand concepts of urban intervention, revitalize the social and economic fabric and engender fresh perspec-tives, thus enabling people to (re)discover places within the city.

A creative tourism exploration project developed within the framework of academic research pursued by Irena Übler, that offers a new kind of urban experience and interpretation. The result is the installation of five different circuits, signposted in a map that will be distributed locally and nationally, offering visitors an alternative experience of the city.

Um serviço gratuito de infor-mação turística que ultrapassa o convencional. Uma abordagem personalizada dos interesses de cada viajante que promove um tipo de visita genuíno e informal baseada na vivência dos habitantes

locais. Disponível no formato de um desdobrável impresso e numa plataforma online, conterá referências e descrições de locais de interesse – monumentos, restaurantes, lojas, bares, espaços culturais – selecionados de uma forma independente. O Use-it Gui-marães surge pela mão da mesma equipa do Use-it Porto e integra uma rede europeia que conta já com 20 cidades, como Bruxelas, Praga, Oslo ou Copenhaga.

A free non-conventional tourism information service that offers a personalized approach customized to each traveller’s personal interests. The service will promote a genuine and informal visit, based on the life experiences of local inhabitants. Available in the form of a printed leaflet and via an online platform, the service contains references and descriptions of places of interest – monuments, restaurants, shops, bars, cultural spaces – that have been selected independently. Use-it Guimarães is produced by the team behind Use-it Porto and pertains to a European network that already involves 20 cities, including Brussels, Prague, Oslo and Copenhagen.

O nascimento é inseparável da dor... das dores in-dividuais e coletivas. A vida adulta criou um conto de fadas, uma distração para tentar desesperada-mente esquecer seu próprio destino inevitável. Nascer e realizar-se enquanto indivíduo significa também ter a coragem de encarar a realidade, de fazer escolhas e assumir as próprias responsabili-dades, mesmo quando isso significa repensar com-pletamente a sua própria vida e a realidade. O ato criativo é em primeiro lugar um ato de destruição. É partindo do indivíduo, do singular, que se inicia o resgate coletivo.

Birth is inextricably linked to pain, i.e. to individual and collective suffering. Adult life has created a fairy tale, a distraction, in a desperate attempt to forget man’s inevita-ble destiny. Birth and self fulfilment also imply having the courage to face facts, make choices and assume personal responsibilities, even when this means completely rethink-ing our lives and reality. First and foremost, the creative act is also a destructive art. Collective redemption must commence with the singular - with the individual.

Nas visitas orientadas, cada grupo é recebido com um percurso dese-nhado à medida da sua curiosidade, adaptado à faixa etária, à linguagem e aos propósitos que traz consigo.

Mais do que contextualizar as obras expostas, estes encontros procuram proporcionar experiên-cias que aproximem o público das formas artísticas, na perspetiva de suscitar múltiplas interpretações e diálogos. Desenvolvem-se ações de natureza diversa, numa perspetiva de construção comum, envolvendo a contribuição ativa dos partici-pantes, do público, dos visitantes.

As visitas/oficinas exploram a ideia de construção comum a partir da experiência do fazer, aproxi-

mando o público, particularmente o escolar, das práticas artísticas.São pensadas oficinas que com-plementam as visitas orientadas, concebidas por artistas de difer-entes áreas, cruzando referências e valorizando a experimentação.

As Oficinas da Imagem propõem às escolas do concelho de Guimarães – 3º ciclo e ensino secundário – o desafio de explorar o olhar através da visita ao ciclo de exposições que inauguramos no âmbito da programação de Guimarães 2012. A partir das exposições de Arte e Arquitetura, o Serviço Educativo organiza um conjunto de oficinas pensadas para as escolas, a realizar durante o mês de março, que cul-minam numa exposição comum no final do ano letivo. As exposições desta fase do programa constituem maioritariamente uma reflexão sobre o lugar, sobre um olhar que busca na paisagem, na cidade, no território e no espaço o seu mote.

In our guided tours, each group is given an itinerary that has been tailored to its interests, designed in function of its age range, communica-tional approach and specific objectives.

Rather than merely providing a background to the works on display, these tours aim to provide experiences that will bring participants closer to the works on display, in order to stimulate multiple discussions and interpretations. Various initiatives will be organised, from the perspec-tive of joint construction, based upon active involvement of participants, spectators and visitors.

bringing members of the general public, in particular those at school, closer to artistic practises. The workshops - devised by artists from different backgrounds, in order to complement the guided tours - inter-sect multiple references and seek to foster experimentation.

The Image Workshops, organised from March onwards, offer a challenge to middle schools (3rd cycle) and secondary schools located within the municipality of Guimarães, to explore the sense of perception - by organising visits to the exhibitions inaugurated within the programme of Guimarães 2012. On the basis of the art and architecture exhibitions, the Educa-tional Service will organise a series of workshops intended for schools during the month of March, that will culminate with a joint exhibition held at the end of the academic year. The exhibitions on offer during this stage of the programme will primarily con-stitute a reflection on place and the specific perspectives defined by the landscape, city, territory and space.
