This visit can be paired with one to the Circuito Cultural Praça da Liberdade (Praça da Liberdade’s Cultural Circuit) and to the Centro Mineiro de Artesanato (Mineiro Handicraft Centre) located at the Palácio das Artes (Arts Palace). The visit should start at the praça da Liberdade or the Museu de Artes e Ofícios since the Centro Mineiro de Artesanato is geographically located between the two.

Contact region among different geological series of the Proterozoic period, made up of crystalline rocks, giving the territory different landscapes. The ranges of Belo Horizonte are ramifications of the Espinhaço Mountain Range and belong to the Itacolomi Range group. Surrounding the municipality are the Jatobá, José Vieira, Mutuca, Taquaril and Curral Ranges. The highest point is located in the Curral Range, reaching 1,390 metres.

Located in the rio São Francisco basin, Belo Horizonte is served by the Arrudas and Onça Streams, tributaries of the rio das Velhas. The Arrudas crosses the city from the west to the east. Towards the north is the Pampulha Stream; dammed up to create a reservoir with the same time, one of the many nooks of tourism and leisure in the city.
