Le mattonelle Cotto d’Este sono ingelive quando, in virtù della porosità quasi nulla, superano sempre il test ISO 10545-12 che prevede 100 cicli gelo/disgelo tra -5°C e +5°C senza subire nessun danno.

Ceramic materials laid outdoors suffer frost damage if their porosity is above a certain level. When any water absorbed freezes, it increases in volume, generating strong internal mechanical stresses which may cause the material to detach from the underlying surface. Cotto d’Este tiles are frostproof because, thanks to their porosity value of virtually nil, they always pass the ISO 10545-12 test comprising 100 freeze/thaw cycles between -5°C and +5°C without suffering any damage.

Slip resistance of tiles is determined by measuring the coefficient of static friction Fc. The method uses a neolite coated sliding body, loaded with a given weight and initially stationary on the surface of the test specimen. 4 STUCCHI CEMENTIZI MISCELATI CON ACQUAPer rimuovere i residui di cemento, boiacca, calce, stucchi cementizi per le fughe, ecc.., si deve effet-tuare la pulizia “dopoposa” alme-no dopo 4-5 giorni dalla posa (per consentire così l’indurimento dello stucco) e mai oltre i 10 giorni. Oltre questi tempi la pulizia può diven-tare molto più laboriosa.Si effettua con specifici detergenti a base di acidi tamponati. Tali detergenti sono facilmente re-peribili in commercio, alcuni di questi sono riportati nella seguente tabella.

CEMENTITIOUS GROUTS MIXED WITH WATERTo remove the residues of ce-ment, slurry, lime, cementitious grouts for joints, etc... the “af-ter-installation” cleaning must be carried out at least after 4-5 days from the installation (so that the grout can harden) and never beyond 10 days. E’ importante dopo la stuccatura ri-muovere gli eccessi in breve tempo e con frequenti lavaggi utilizzando spugna ed acqua fino alla totale pulizia del pavimento. Successiva-mente fare lavaggio acido utilizzan-do monospazzola con dischi verdi.

Then, carry out an acid washing using a single brush with green disks.

SURFACES ANTIDÉRAPANTESDu fait de leur particularité, les sur-faces antiglisse, rugueuses ou struc-turées, sont plus difficiles à nettoyer. Une fois le jointoiement terminé, il est donc important d’enlever rapidement le mortier en excès en procédant à des nettoyages fréquents avec une éponge et de l’eau jusqu’au nettoyage complet du sol. Utiliser ensuite une mono-bros-se dotée de disques verts pour effec-tuer le nettoyage à l’acide.

RUTSCHFESTE OBERFLÄCHENAufgrund ihrer Beschaffenheit sind die rutschfesten, rauen oder strukturierten Ober-flächen etwas schwieriger zu reinigen. Nach dem Stucken ist es sehr wichtig, überschüs-siges Fugenmaterial möglichst schnell durch wiederholte Reinigungsvorgänge mit einem Schwamm und ausreichend Wasser zu entfer-nen, bis der gesamte Bodenbelag sauber ist. Danach den Boden mit einem Reinigungs-mittel auf Säurebasis mit einer Einscheiben-maschine mit grünen Scheiben reinigen.

NON utilizzare cere sui pavimenti e rivestimenti COTTO D’ESTE.

Capita spesso che nei normali deter-genti in commercio siano contenute cere o additivi lucidanti che, lavag-gio dopo lavaggio, depositano sul pavimento patine lucide, causa di noie ed alonature. Patine di questo tipo possono essere depositate an-che da alcuni stucchi per le fughe. Semplici alimenti come Coca Cola, vino, acqua, ecc…, cadendo sul pa-vimento tolgono questa patina lucida e ripristinano l’aspetto originale più opaco delle piastrelle. In mezzo al pavimento più lucido, le zone senza cera appaiono come aloni opachi, in realtà sono le uniche parti pulite del pavimento. In questi casi bisogna per prima cosa decerare tutto il pavi-mento, seguendo le indicazioni della tabella seguente. Poi, per le pulizie ordinarie, utilizzare i detergenti della tabella a fianco.

Do NOT use waxes on COTTO D’ESTE floor and wall tiles.

Often, the standard detergents available on the market contain waxes or polishing additives that, washing after washing, deposit glossy coats on the floor causing halos and problems. This kind of coats can be deposited even by some grouts for joints. Simple agents such as coke, wine, water, etc... falling on the floor remove this glossy coat and restore the original duller look of the tiles. In these cases, first of all the whole floor must be de-waxed, following the indications of the table below. Then, use the detergents of the table besides for the routine cleaning.

NE JAMAIS utiliser des cires sur les revêtements de sol et muraux COTTO D’ESTE.Souvent, les détergents normalement disponibles dans le commerce contien-nent des cires ou des additifs cirants qui, nettoyage après nettoyage, forment des couches brillantes sur le carrelage; cela cause des ennuis et produit des auréoles. Ce type de couche peut être causé également par certains coulis uti-lisés dans les joints. Lorsque des simples boissons, par exemple: le coca-cola, le vin et l’eau, tombent au sol, elles en-lèvent la couche brillante et redonnent aux carreaux leur aspect original mat. Les zones sans cire ressemblent à des auréoles opaques au milieu d’un car-relage brillant. En réalité, il s’agit des seules zones propres du sol. Dans ces cas, il faudra tout d’abord décirer le sol en se conformant aux instructions contenues dans le tableau suivant. En-suite, effectuer le nettoyage ordinaire en choisissant un des détergents indi-qués plus a côte.

Ähnliche Schichten können auch durch bestimmte Fugenstu-cke gebildet werden. Einige weit ver-breitete Getränke wie Coca Cola, Wein, Wasser usw... könnten auf dem Boden diese glänzende Schicht entfernen und die wieder das ursprüngliche Aussehen herstellen, das matter ist. Auf einer glän-zenden Oberfläche sehen die Bereiche ohne Wachs wie matte Flecken aus, in Wirklichkeit handelt es sich um die ein-zigen, sauberen Bereiche. In diesen Fäl-len muss als erstes der Wachs von der gesamten Bodenfläche entfernt werden. Beachten Sie hierzu die Angaben in der folgenden Tabelle. Für herkömmliche Reinigungen sollten die in der Tabelle daneben aufgelisteten Reinigungsmittel eingesetzt werden.

KERLITE deve essere applicato su superfici planari, si consiglia l’uso dei più comuni adesivi per rivestimenti di ceramica, applicati con l’apposita spatola dentata da 3 mm. (a denti inclinati da 6 mm. per i pavimenti).

Per la sua perfetta calibratura il prodotto permette una posa con una fuga minima di 1 mm.

KERLITE è un materiale assimilabile al vetro e necessita di particolare attenzione nel trasporto e nella movimentazione.

Le operazioni di taglio di KERLI-TE possono essere effettuate con semplici tagliavetri manuali che consentono un’estrema pulizia, un’elevata precisione ed una grande velocità esecutiva.

NB: Per un maggiore approfondimento delle tematiche trattate in questo paragrafo si consiglia la lettura dell’apposito manuale tecnico.

KERLITE must be applied on perfectly flat surfaces. We recommend the use of a professional adhesive suitable for wall tiles. The adhesive should be applied using a notched trowel (3 mm), (6mm sloped toothed squeegee for floor tiles).

Thanks to its perfectly square edges, the product allows a joint of at least 1 mm.

KERLITE requires particular care in handling, as it is similar to glass and must be treated carefully in both transport and processing.

KERLITE can be cut using simple “hand glass cutters”, which allow an extremely clean cut, high precision, and high-speed work.

N.B. We highly recommend reading the technical manual.

KERLITE doit être appliqué sur des surfaces parfaitement planes. Nous vous conseillons d’utiliser un adhésif professionnel pour la pose des carreaux céramiques au mur. L’adhésif doit être appliqué à l’aide de la spatule dentée spéciale (3 mm), (peigne cranté de 6mm à dents inclinés pour le sol).

Grâce aux bords par-faitement équarris, les plattes peuvent être posés avec un joint d’1 mm mininum.

KERLITE exige certaines pré-cautions lors des opérations de manutention, dans la mesure où ce matériau est semblable au verre et nécessite une attention particulière lors du transport et du façonnage.

KERLITE peut être découpé à par de simples «coupe-verres manuels», qui permettent une haute précision et une grande rapidité d’exécution.
