Ie , various substances , we call nutrients needed to keep your body alive , healthy and active . Nutrients provide the energy that will enable vital functions ; make materials for construction and replacement of the cells that form the body ; regulate multiple body functions . The main nutrients are : . organic : carbohydrates , lipids , proteins and vitamias . . inorganic minerals. The water we eat and is present in many foods , is not a nutr inte . To demonstrate the importance of water in vital systems , just consider that it represents aproximadamente70 % of our body mass . Carbohydrates: sugars also termed , are the main sources of energy in the body. The carbohydrates are present in fruits (fructose ) , milk (lactose ) and its deriados (butter, cheese, yogurt etc.). On rice, maize, potato , cassava , among others. The starch , a type of carbohydrate stored mainly in roots , is also present in rice, the potato , corn and foods prepared with wheat (bread , cake, biscuit and pasta in general) . The different types of proteins are present in many foods such as meat in the beef, pork , poultry , and fish , eggs , dairy products in legumes , such as beans , soybeans , peas , etc. .

Lipids : Fats and oils in foods represent the lipids. They can be the source :. animals : are in meat, milk and derivatives , egg yolk etc .. vegetables : the seeds are peanut , soybean , etc. , in olives, coconuts and thenut; oils of olive, sunflower, soybean and so on.Lipids are important energy sources . Among other functions , these nutrientsare constituents of cell membranes and protect the body temperature variations.However excessive consumption of foods rich in lipids can cause obesity andcardiovascular diseases, among others.

Vitamins : Vitamins are nutritional elements essential to life and promotephysical well-being and mental health. Are organic compounds that participatein cellular energy release and other functions of our body .Vitamins A, B , C, scientists have named facilitate DTo each kind of vitamin witha letter.

Vitamin A: Vitamin A plays several roles in the body . For example : protects theskin and mucous membranes ; helps in bone development , especially of theteeth and conservation of tooth enamel , and the state of the hair , plays anessential role in vision ; participates in the maintenance of epithelial tissue ( skin) ; helps in functioning immune ( body defense ) etc. .Whole milk , cheese , mabteiga , egg yolk , papaya, mango , red guava .pumpkin, carrot, tomato , onion and vegetables are generally sources of vitamins .

Vitamin B: This complex vitamin is essential for the power supply to theorganism and production of muscle mass and strength . It also helps to maintainthe health of the nervous system , combats stress , depression and fatigue ,and improve skin , hair , vision and digestion.The sources of these vitamins : whole grains , legumes ( beans, soybeans ,lentils, peas , chickpeas grain , etc.). Garlic, onion eggs, milk fish , crustaceansand kids, among others .

Vitaina C: Vitamin C acts to maintain the teeth , bones and cartilage. It alsoprotects the body 's healing and certain infections .The main sources of vitamin C are fruits and erduras , among which stand out :acerelo , lemon, orange , pineapple , papaya , cantaloupe , watermelon ,grapefruit , spinach , cauliflower , tomato etc. . Vitamin C is also present insome types of meat, especially the liver .The lack of vitamin C in the body can cause some health disorders , such asanemia, inflammation of mucous membranes, weakening of the capillary ,among others.

Vitamin D : Vitamin D AS is very important for children , pregnant women andmothers who are breast-feeding because it favors the growth and retention of minerals , like calcium , in the bones and teeth .Minerals : The minerals are inorganic nutrients supply to the organism, amongother substances , sodium, potassium , calcium, phosphorus , iodine, and iron.
