Welcome to the Star Wars Character Development Sheet for Fantasy
Flight Games' Edge of the Empire,Age of Rebellion, andForce
and Destiny. I designed this sheet as a tool to help players
build a bacground for their characters and connections to other
characters
in the party. !he idea is to create a story "ith depth that
allo"s the player characters to share some common history.
!he Character Development Worsheet is pretty much a straight
rip#off of the Character Worsheet in $vil %at Games' The
Dresden
Files RPG, "ith a fe" modifications to mae it function "ith
FFG's Star Warsgames.
!he Worsheet is divided into three sections& ames, (hases,
and Character Info.
) good name is important to a character. I've given the one
belo" the name *+rindle Corr, largely because he sounds lie a
tough
guy, and I'm shooting for someone "ho can pac a punch. I've also
included my o"n name so the G- can see "ho's "hom.
Character (hases might be a little different to anyone "ho
hasn't played The Dresden Files RPG, but I'll try to eplain. !here
are five
phases, and each one has its o"n purpose.
Phase I
In (hase I, the player s/uares out the foundation for his
character's bacstory. !his can go all the "ay bac into the
childhood of thecharacter, his origin. )s yourself "hat ind of
circumstances drove your character for"ard. What ind of
relationship did he have
"ith his family0 Did he come from money, or "ere they dirt poor0
What about friendships0 1!his is a good place to "rite in a
potential (C contact or t"o23 Was he a troublemaer0 What ind of
training did he have0

ote ho" the story information on the left is distilled do"n to
the important game information on the right0 !he point is to come
up
"ith ideas for your character's motivations, career,
speciali4ations, obligations, and so on.
Phase IIIn this (hase, your character begins to come into his
o"n, maing close friendships, defining certain enemies, creating
obligations to
others. !his is the middle history, the step that solidifies "ho
he is today. Who "ere the important people in his life0 Did he mae
any
enemies0 Fast friends0 Does he have any outstanding debts0

character notes on the right, and "e can see certain aspects
beginning to form.

Phase III(hase III is "here your character starts to branch out
into his adventures, meeting other characters and connecting "ith
them. Where
does he go0 What does he do0 Who figures into his story as
friend or foe0 Is there a rivalry forming0 ) close bond0 -aybe he's
in overhis head, o"ing a crime lord, or has a strong sense of duty
to"ard a benefactor. +e sure to come up "ith a catchy title for the
story and
include one or t"o other characters from your group as Guest
Stars in it2
+rindle's (hase III introduces his friends $nna 5oiel and
Dandarian -alarin.
6ou don't have to go into a "hole lot of detail about the
adventure, 7ust frame it out. 6our fello" players "ill fill in more
details in
(hases I5 and 5. 6ou'll also notice the character notes are a
little more narrative during this (hase of +rindle's creation. !hat
may or
may not happen "ith your o"n character.
Phase IVIn (hase I5, you're going to hand your character sheet
over to one of the people you've listed as a Guest Star in (hase
III. +asically,
another player "ill "rite a /uic summary of your story from
their perspective 8 ho" "ere they involved0 Did they come up "ith
theplan0 %o" do they feel about their ne" friend0
In this case, $nna 5oiel describes ho" she and Dandarian came to
no" +rindle Corr.
)ha2 +rindle no" has a bounty on his head. %e shouldn't have
sipped out on 9gla "ithout paying off his debt2
Phase V!his (hase is pretty much lie the previous one, only
"ritten from the perspective of yet another player. %ere's
+rindle's (hase 5,
narrated by Dandarian -alarin, a Sullustan slicer "ith a bit of
an attitude&
)gain, the character notes are more narrative, but they're
useful for developing a relationship bet"een Dan and +rindle
sometime in
