Drugs, Alcohol, and Tabacco:COOL WAYS TO SAY “NO”

Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco can do serious Damage to people’s bodies and minds. Most kids keep away from them. But some kids have a tough time saying “no” when they are offered harmful substances. Here are some ways to say “no”. They’re suggested by DARE, a U.S. government program. Add your own ideas to this list.

Say “No thanks.” (Say it again and again if you have to.)

Give reasons.(“I don’t like cigarettes” or “I’m going to soccer practice” or “My mom would kill me.”)

Change the subject or offer a better suggestion. Walk away. (Don’t argue, don’t discuss it. Just leave.) Avoid the situation. (If you are asked to a party where kids will

be drinking, smoking, or using drugs, make plans to do something else instead.)

Find strength in numbers. (Do things with friends who don’t use harmful substances.)

BALÕES

O balão é um elemento característico dos quadrinhos. Ele contém texto ou imagens, sinais de pontuação ou símbolos e muda de formato dependendo do que deseja expressar: as falas, os pensamentos ou as emoções (surpresa, alegria, raiva, medo, cansaço, etc.) das personagens.

Assim, por exemplo: o balão-fala apresenta todo o contorno em linha contínua; o balão-cochicho é feito com linhas pontilhadas, indicando que a personagem está falando baixinho; o balão-grito tem o contorno tremido e traduz irritação, espanto ou horror, etc.

No texto dos balões geralmente se usa letra de fôrma, maiúscula, desenhada à mão; e pode variar de tamanho, cor ou forma, quando o desenhista deseja traduzir expressões ou situações que fogem ao normal, como, por exemplo, indicar um tom de voz mais alto ou mais baixo, ou demonstrar irritação, etc.
