he burner uses high pressure to atomi&e the fuel out of the no&&le )ll the air re$uired for the combustion is supplied by an incorporated radial+a"ial flow fancoupled with a regulator plate regulating the fuel feed valve to ensure e"act air oil proportioning, thus ensuring fully combusted flame to be developed in theburner head -inimi&ed fuel wastage gives the owner a significant saving over oneyear operation

he flame entering the hot air generator is further mi"ed with the returned air to give the air a final temperature of appro"imately .//01 for optimum heattransfer to the *)% he special construction of the system ensures the optimum temperature of 23/24/01 for the *)% before discharging into a buffer silo5y this method of recirculating the hot air, appro"imately 647 of energy is saved

In the treatment of *)%, it is always important to prevent e"cessive fines or asphalt dust being produced, reasons being8

• the heated asphalt dust will be cho9ed up the pollution control system by stic9ing onto the filter soc9s

• the plant circulation system and drum may be progressively coated with the asphalt thus re$uires constant cleaning

• possible change in the properties of the *)%, eg o"idation and burning due to increased surface area where too much hot air is in contact with the

asphalt
