13 – POSSESSIVE CASE ( Caso Possessivo)

Eg.: This is the brother of Peter. (Este é o irmão do Peter.)

This is Peter’s brother. (Este é o irmão do Peter.)

These are the CDs of Susan and Robert.

These are Susan and Robert’s CDs.

normalmente usa-se a seguinte estrutura: substantivo + ‘of’ + substantivo.

Eg.: The walls of my house. (As paredes da minha casa)

The roof of the house.

Eg.: My father’s office. (O escritório do meu pai)

The workmen’s tools.

Eg.: Peter and Sally’s apartment.

Eg.: Peter’s and Sally’s apartment.

Eg.: My friends’ families. (As famílias do meus amigos)
