Report or Statement of Operating Expenses. The Parish Finance
Council will be looking at this more closely with me as we plan
& budget for the future. After the Central Ministries Tithe of
$22,644 the parish Net Surplus is $113,671. That is nearly twice
the amount of our surplus of last fiscal year. The good thing is
that if we can continue this upward swing of offerings and income
we can become less dependent on the parking lot income. As you
recall there was a capital campaign to increase the offertory last
year. This netted a 25% increase as was expected. Please realize
that this is your parish and continually needs your support. You
may notice a couple of things being repaired, one is the wall
around the courtyard. Because of the type of brick and the rain and
ice it is beginning to show signs of wear and deterioration.
Another, more expensive fix is going to be to the roof and gutters
of the church. Unfortunately the gutters are not at all
well-equipped to divert and catch the amount of rainfall and snow
from our weather. This has continued to cause leaks in the church.
In order to paint the interior of the church, which is sorely
needed, we must tend to the exterior repairs otherwise the painting
is futile. One other thing that needs to be done is the entire
church carpeting. In some parts it is well worn and needs
replacement. Its been over 30 years now and these fixes are
definitely needed. As we go forth I count on your support for these

Conselho Paroquial de Finanas analisar este Demonstrativo comigo
quando planejarmos o oramento futuro da Parquia. Aps recebermos as
doaes e ofertas dos paroquianos no valor de $22,644, a parquia
agora possui um excedente lquido total de $113,671. Isto quase o
dobro do que excedeu no ano passado. A boa notcia que se
continuarmos com este balano positivo nas ofertas e doaes,
poderemos nos tornar menos dependentes do dinheiro arrecadado com o
aluguel do estacionamento. Como vocs devem se lembrar, houve uma
campanha para aumentarmos nosso ofertrio no ano passado. Tal
campanha aumentou nossa arrecadao em 25%, conforme esperado. Por
favor, compreenda que esta parquia vossa e que ela precisa
continuamente do vosso apoio. Vocs devem ter percebido algumas
obras na rea da igreja, uma delas sendo a reforma o muro ao redor
do adro. Devido ao tipo de tijolos utilizados e devido ao da chuva
e da neve, o muro comeou a mostrar sinais de deteriorao. Outra obra
necessria e mais onerosa ser a reforma do telhado e das calhas da
igreja. Infelizmente as calhas no so apropriadas ou capazes de
recolher e escoar a chuva e a neve que caem em nossa regio. Isto
tem continuamente causado infiltraes e vazamentos na igreja. Para
que possamos pintar o interior da igreja--algo extremamente
necessrio--, primeiramente deveremos reparar o exterior, seno a
nova pintura ser intil. Outra coisa que precisa ser feita a troca
de todo o carpete da igreja. Em algumas partes, o carpete est muito
desgastado e precisa ser trocado. J se passaram mais de 30 anos
desde a concluso da construo da igreja e estes reparos so
definitivamente necessrios. Enquanto avanamos, conto com vossa
ajuda para que possamos implementar estes projetos. Meus mais

Religious Education Annual Food Drive
As Thanksgiving approaches, many of us throw ourselves into
making plans with families, keeping up with traditions while
perhaps trying a new recipe to add to the 10+ desserts on the
table. But, let us not forget that this is also a special time in
which we give thanks for what we have and to help those less
fortunate. As always, throughout the month of October and until the
weekend before Thanksgiving, we will be collecting food to help St.
Vincent de Pauls mission in aiding the hungry in our community.
Your help, as always, is most appreciated. We are in need of all
dry or canned food items including: Canned Vegetables Tuna All
types of pasta Mac-n-Cheese Peanut Butter Jelly Pasta Sauce Rice
Canned Soups Beans

"Giving Tree"
We now invite all of our parishioners to call the Religious
Education Office with information on any child or family who may
need extra help & support during the Christmas & winter
seasons. If you know of someone in need, please call the office as
soon as possible with the families needs. The requests of these
families will be placed on our Giving Tree beginning Sunday,
December 1st. Parishioners can then pick one or two tags and
fulfill the wish on the tag. The gifts can be brought to the church
and placed under the tree until Sunday, December 15th.

Looking for a Family Procurando uma famlia H um jovem da
Fortaleza que os Padres Walter e Cristiano conhecem. Ele estava
aqui com seu pai dois anos atrs, visitando universidades na rea na
expectativa de vir aqui para estudar. Ele est planeando vir c este
outono para continuar seus estudos de ingls , que j fala muito bem,
e aumentar suas habilidades de comunicao , imergindo-se com aqueles
que falam ingls. Para esse fim, ele espera poder ficar com uma
famlia, falando principalmente ingls desde que ele j fala Portugus
bem. Ele tem 16 anos e seu nome Daniel . Ele est planejando ficar
uns dois meses. Eu conheci sua me e seu pai e irm mais nova e sei
que eles so uma boa famlia catlica e como um casal e como os jovens
esto envolvidos em atividades de f baseadas da igreja. Se voc ou
uma familia que conhece seria capaz ou dispostos a acolher este
jovem a sua famlia ficaria muito grato. Entre em contato comigo ou
Padre Cristiano . There is a young man that both Fr. Walter &
Fr. Cristiano have met. He was here with his father a couple of
years ago looking at colleges in the area in anticipation of coming
here to study. The family is from Fortaleza and I visited with them
this past summer. He is planning to come here this fall to continue
his English studies, which he already speaks pretty well, and
increase his communication skills by im-mersing himself with those
who speak the language. To that end he is hoping to be able to stay
with a family, mostly English speaking since he already speaks
Portuguese pretty well. He is 16 years old and his name is Daniel.
He is plan-ning to stay a couple of months. Ive met his Mom and Dad
and younger sister and know they are a good Catholic fami-ly and as
a married couple and as youth are involved in church based faith
activities. If you or a family you know would be able or willing to
welcome this young man his family would be very grateful. Please

What is the PEACE Retreat? - The PEACE retreat is sponsored by
the I.H.M. Emmaus/Peace group to bring others to Christ. It is a
weekend experience for young adults (19-27yrs) who will join with
other young people to share their struggles and triumphs and their
efforts as they en-counter Christ in the world today. The weekend
includes prayer, reflections, and fun moments. Come and experience
Jesus Christ in a new and profound way and meet new friends on this
faith journey!
Who can attend this weekend? - Any young adult Catholic (between
the ages of 19-27) & desires to experience a new way of living
his faith in Jesus may apply to attend.

the Archdiocese of Boston's 2013 Catholic Appeal. This effort
directly supports the 50 ministries that benefit hundreds of
pastoral, charitable and educational programs. We can be the Good

St. Anthony Church each Thursday from 9:30am6:30pm for Exposition
of the Blessed Sacra-ment. In addition, there will be Exposition of
the Blessed Sacrament every First Friday of the month from 5:00pm
until 6:30pm at St. Anthony Church. Please come and spend some
quiet time with the Lord.
