UNILENE Resins are petroleum hydrocarbon resins with low molecular weight, obtained from copolymerization of styrene, indene and their methyl by-products, contained in a pyrolysis gasoline stream.

A simplified chemical reaction between styrene, indene and their methyl derivates is shown below. The methyl radicals are represented by “R” and their position varies in accordance with each isomer.
UNILENE
UNILENE are thermoplastic resins solid at ambient temperature with a pearl shape and a soft yellow color. The softening point varies from 80 to 140°C, and the Acid Number < 0,10 mg KOH/g.UNILENE Resins are compatible with a large variety of polymeric materials, such as:• Elastomers: SBR, NBR, CR, EPDM, BR, NR, TR.• Plastics: EVA, PVC, PP.• Resins: Alkyd, Epoxy, Phenolic, Styrenated.
