WORKING THE BASKETWEAVE PATTERN
a b
ca To work a back post double crochet: workingin back of fabric, yarn over and insert the hookfrom right to left around the post of the stitchbelow. Yarn over and complete the double crochet as you normally would.
b. To work a front post double crochet: workingin front of fabric, yarn over and insert the hookfrom right to left around the post of the stitchbelow. Yarn over and complete the double crochet as you normally would.
c The basketweave effect is achieved by alternating front post and back post stitches atregular intervals. Here, a front post stitch isbeing worked after four rows of back poststitches, which will create the pattern change.

a Work a chain-3 to begin a new row ofdouble crochet.
b Insert the hook into the second chainfrom the hook and pull up a loop.
c Insert the hook into the first stitch ofthe row below and pull up another loop(three loops on hook).
d Yarn over and pull through two loopstwice, to complete the linked double cro-chet. Work all remaining stitches in therow as standard double crochets.
