INTRODUÇÃO

QUAL É O ALVO DE SUSTENTABILIDADE?

“an attempt to bridge the gap between environmental concerns about the increasingly evident ecological consequences of human activities

and socio-political concerns about human development issues” [J. Robinson, “Squaring the circle? Some thoughts on the idea of sustainable development,” Ecol. Econ., vol. 48, no. 4, pp. 369–384, Apr. 2004.]

as questões de desenvolvimento humano [G. H. Brundtland, “Our Common Future,” 1987.]

a utilização dos três pilares (qualidade ecologica, qualidade economica e qualidade socio-cultural)

foi adaptado por várias entidades [Bundesministerium für Verkehr Bau und Stadtentwicklung, “Leitfaden Nachhaltiges Bauen.” p. 170, 2013.]

NECESSIDADES E RECURSOS

NECESSIDADES E RECURSOS

QUAIS SÃO AS NECESSIDADES?

edificações representavam 46,7% do consumo total do Brasil em 2011 [R. Lamberts, L. Dutra, and F. O. R. Pereira, Efiviência Energética na Arquitetura, 3° edição. 2014, p. 382.]

[R. Lamberts, L. Dutra, and F. O. R. Pereira, Efiviência Energética na Arquitetura, 3° edição. 2014, p. 382.]

NECESSIDADES E RECURSOS

SUSTENTABILIDADE E ARQUITETURA

Page 13: Sustainability in Architecture Design Process

ULBRA Torres 2015 - Dipl.-Ing. M.Sc. Lennart Bertram Poehls

SUSTENTABILIDADE E ARQUITETURA

COMO PODEMOS RESOLVER ESSE PARADOXO?

projeto orientado ao desempenho energético

estratégias passivas

estratégias ativas

SUSTENTABILIDADE E ARQUITETURA

SUSTENTABILIDADE E ARQUITETURA

PORQUE ESSE PARADOXO JA NÃO FOI RESOLVIDO?

certificações / legislação

tecnologia disponível

professionais treinados

mercado receptivo

ENERGIA E CONFORTO

COMO MEDIR ENERGIA E CONFORTO?

dados qualitativos / dados quantitativos

conforto é subjetivo, individual e extremamente complexo

ENERGIA E CONFORTO

COMO SIMULAR ENERGIA E CONFORTO?

EnergyPlus, Autodesk Ecotect, Radience, etc.

30 / 45

Page 19: Sustainability in Architecture Design Process

ULBRA Torres 2015 - Dipl.-Ing. M.Sc. Lennart Bertram Poehls

LIBERDADE E CONTROLE

WICKED PROBLEMS

essa ideia deriva do importante artigo de Rittel e Webber do ano 1973 [H. W. J. Rittel and M. M. Weber, “Dilemas in a General Theory of Planning,” Policy Sci., vol. 4, no. 2, pp. 155–169, 1973.]

“[…] contrary to common-enough talk where it is made to look as if a problem domain is either all fully tame or all fully wicked,

with nothing in between [...]” [R. Farrell and C. Hooker, “Design, science and wicked problems,” Des. Stud., vol. 34, no. 6, pp. 681–705, Nov. 2013.]

LIBERDADE E CONTROLE

COMPLEXIDADE E FINITUDE

O QUE FAZ UM PROBLEMA SER RESOLVÍVEL?

Finitude: because a given problem has to be resolved with a limitation of resources such as cognitive capacity, time or other and the resources are insufficient for an optimal solution

[R. Farrell and C. Hooker, “Design, science and wicked problems,” Des. Stud., vol. 34, no. 6, pp. 681–705, Nov. 2013.]

36 / 45

Page 22: Sustainability in Architecture Design Process

ULBRA Torres 2015 - Dipl.-Ing. M.Sc. Lennart Bertram Poehls

COMPLEXIDADE E FINITUDE

O QUE FAZ UM PROBLEMA SER RESOLVÍVEL?

Complexity: caused by the interactions between partially nested hierarchies in complex systems causing the impossibility to distinguish between consequences of action or interaction

and to predict the outcome even with a given set of input [R. Farrell and C. Hooker, “Design, science and wicked problems,” Des. Stud., vol. 34, no. 6, pp. 681–705, Nov. 2013.]

38 / 45

Page 23: Sustainability in Architecture Design Process

ULBRA Torres 2015 - Dipl.-Ing. M.Sc. Lennart Bertram Poehls

COMPLEXIDADE E FINITUDE

O QUE FAZ UM PROBLEMA SER RESOLVÍVEL?

Normativity: as rules that intertwine with and contradict possible problem definitions as well as problem solutions

[R. Farrell and C. Hooker, “Design, science and wicked problems,” Des. Stud., vol. 34, no. 6, pp. 681–705, Nov. 2013.]

Page 24: Sustainability in Architecture Design Process

ULBRA Torres 2015 - Dipl.-Ing. M.Sc. Lennart Bertram Poehls

COMPLEXIDADE E FINITUDE

42 / 45

Page 25: Sustainability in Architecture Design Process

ULBRA Torres 2015 - Dipl.-Ing. M.Sc. Lennart Bertram Poehls

CONCLUSÕES

MUDAR, INOVAR E OTIMIZAR PROCESSOS
