th Anniversary!

Dear parishioners if you have pictures from the time our church was built
please bring them to the parish office to be scanned. We will be displaying
them during the day of our celebration.
SUMMER CATECHISM CLASSES Registrations for the summer catechism classes for
those young people (ages 14-17) who haven’t
receive their First Holy Communion will start on
June 1st at the parish office. Registration is limited
to 30 students. The classes will begin on July 2 and
will continue Monday-Thursday from 5:00-7:00pm
through the moth of July. At the end of the course
those who have participated will receive the First
Communion. To register you must bring baptism
certificate and $125.00 registration fee (includes
textbook & Bible).
YOU CAN HELP YOUR MARRIAGE Do you feel alone? Are you frustrated or angry with each

How many people suffer elder abuse? It is difficult to say how many older Americans are abused,
neglected, or exploited, in large part because surveillance is
limited and the problem remains greatly hidden. But recent
studies suggest that more than 500,000
Americans aged 60 and over are victims of
domestic abuse. Studies have also found
that only 16 percent of the abusive situa-
tions are referred for help -- 84 percent
remain hidden. The U.S. Senate Special
Committee on Aging estimates that there
may be as many as 5 million victims every

CAMP MARIASTELLA, a residential camp for girls
located in lovely Wrightwood, in the San Gabriel Mountains
is currently accepting applications for campers: girls ages 7-
15 who would love to have a really great week at Summer
Camp. We are also recruiting young women who are at lest
17 to work as a summer camp counselors for the summer...a
great way to spend your summer! We are looking for nurses
who would like to volunteer for one week with our summer
camp program. Our camp buses pick up in Los Angeles,
Lakewood, Upland, Encino, Santa Ana and Victorville. A
week or summer at camp is the best experience you will have,
we promise that! Camp Mariastella is a Ministry of the Sis-

BISHOP ALEMANY SUMMER CAMPS Bishop Alemany High School extends a warm invitation to all
incoming 3rd to 8th grade students to attend warrior basketball
camp. Two sessions to pick from, Session A: June 18 to June

CATECISMO DE VERANO Las inscripciones para el catecismo de verano para
los jóvenes adolescentes (14-17 años) que no han
recibido su Primera Comunión comenzaran el 1ro de
junio en la oficina parroquial. Las clases comenzaran
el día 2 de julio y continuaron de lunes a jueves de
5-7pm todo el mes de julio. Hay cupo limitado de 30
alumnos solamente. Al final del curso los participan-
tes recibirán su Primera Comunión. Es un requisito
que presenten el acta de Bautismo y la cuota de
inscripción de $125.00-(incluye texto y Biblia).

Catequesis para adultos Este programa de catequesis es un proceso de evangeliza-
ción para jóvenes y adultos mayores de 18 años de edad
que no han recibido el sacramento de bautizo, primera
comunión, o confirmación. Está diseñado para todos los
que desean conocer la fe católica y quieren también com-
prometerse más profundamente en la comunidad a través
de la evangelización.
Para inscribirse, solamente deben presentarse el Martes,
1 y 8 de mayo a las 7:00 pm en el salón # 12. Las clases
comenzaran el día 15 de mayo.

NEWS FLASH AT OLHR! Hello! We just had Spirit Week at our school. It was filled with cra-zy activities for each day. For ex-ample, we had Sports Day when students would wear their favorite
sport jersey. The student body council also or-ganized an obstacle course for students to plat with during their lunch time. Crazy Twin Day was the best activity we had. Students paired up with whoever they wanted and dressed up exactly alike. Kids wore different socks, shirts
that were backwards, and they even spray paint-ed their hair different colors! The last activity we had was for one entire day. It had balloon hop, jump rope race, basketball race and more! This was one of the best weeks of the school year. To top it all off we had our Spring Carnival on Saturday themed, “Under the Sea.” We had
games such as, “seashell searching, fishing in the ocean, hula hoop toss, and a lot of fun!” Lastly, the whole school would like to thank Fr. Ariel for all the hard work he has done
throughout the past 6 years. We wish him good luck in his new parish. Goodbye, until next time.
