Cada uma das palavras em alemão foi traduzida no Google como forma de desafiar o autor a criar uma diagramação trilíngue razoável.Obrigado por ler :)

Although presented in three languages, only portuguese and english were intended to be fully comprehensible. O Bosque Alemão é um parque público administrado pela Prefeitura de Curitiba. Dentro dele há quatro atraçõe principais: a Torre dos Filósofos, uma estrutura de madeira que apresenta uma vista panorâmica de Curitiba; a Trilha de João e Maria, com uma uma adaptação ilustrada da obra homônima dos Irmãos Grimm; a Casa da Bruxa, que oferece contação de histórias para crianças; e o Oratório de Bach, réplica de uma igreja neogótica que já existiu em Curitiba.

Bosque Alemão (deutsch Woods) ist ein öffentlicher Park von der Stadt Curitiba verwaltet. Im Inneren gibt es vier Haupt-Attraktionen: die Philosopher Turm, eine Holzkon-struktion mit Blick auf Curitiba, Hänsel und Gretel Trail, mit einer illustrierten Version der Gebrüder Grimm Märchen gleichnamigen; die Witcha House, welche Angebote Geschichtenerzählen für Kinder, und Bacha Oratorium, eine Nachbildung einer Kirche einmal neogotic in Curitiba gebaut.

“Bosque Alemão” (German Woods) is a public park managed by the City of Curitiba. Inside, there are four main attractions: the Philosopher’s Tower, a structure offering a panoramic view of Curitiba; Hansel and Gretel’s Trail, with an illustrated adaptation of the homonimous Grimm Brothers tale; the Witch’s House, which offers storytelling for kids; and Bach’s Oratory, a replica of a neogotic church once built in Curitiba.

O primeiro passo para desvendar problemas de sinalização no Bosque Alemão foi uma visita ao local e às rotas visitáveis. Nela foram feitos rascunhos de locais com sinalização inexistente ou insatisfatória. Eles foram o ponto de partida para o Mapeamento, que será apresentado nas próximas páginas. Este mapeamento mostra todos os locais onde a sinalização será aplicada, levando em conta pontos onde ela já existe e aqueles onde ela é completamente ausente. A lista ao lado junta problemas encontrados nesta fase e em visitas e análises posteriores.-Der erste Schritt zur Signalisierung Fragen Bosque Alemão enthüllen war ein Besuch in dem Ort und zu den Strecken, die besucht werden können. Während dieses Besuchs Skizzen von Orten mit inexistent oder unsatisfatory Signal-isierung wurden. Sie waren der Ausgang-spunkt für die Mapping, die auf den folgenden Seiten gezeigt werden. Das Mapping zeigt alle Stellen, wo die Signalisierung angewendet werden wird, unter Berücksichtigung alle Orte, wo sie bereits vorhanden sowie solche, bei denen es völlig abwesend. Die Liste rechts schnürt Probleme in dieser Phase als auch im Seitenzahnbereich Besuche und Analyse gefunden.-The first step to unveil signalling issues in Bosque Alemão was a visit to the place and to the routes that could be visited. During this visit sketches of places with inexistent or unsatisfatory signalling were made. They were the starting point for the Mapping that will be shown in the following pages. The Mapping shows all the places where the signalling will be applied, taking into account all the places where it already exists as well as those where it is completely absent. The list on the right puts together issues found in this phase as well as in posterior visits and analysis.

Sie können schneller auch ohne Berufung auf jedem Leser Mutter-sprache lesen, die Verbesserung der Lese-Erfahrung. Die dreisprachige verbale Text dient als Ergänzung zu den pictogramas, speziell wenn mit erkennbaren Piktogrammen als diejenigen, die auf spezifische Aspekte der Bosque Alemão verwendet. Die indikativen Zeichen zielt darauf hinweisen, subjetively, der Text in das Zeichen selbst. Dies geschieht, weil diese Zeichen in dem Ort zeigen sie installiert werden. Die spielerischen Vorzeichen haben, als eine grundlegende Syntax, die Anwesen-heit von Titel und optional Text in der oberen oder unteren Teil. StandartizationFirst step in the design solution was standardize the signs in the park.Five types of signs were created: Indicative, Directional, Ludic, Map and History. When any of these signs are placed together, the group receives the denomination of Mixed sign.These are measurements and scale rules choosen for each:Indicative: 4:1, 90 x 22,5 cm.Directional: 6:1, 90 x 15 cm.Ludic*: variable scale; measurements in multiples of 15 cm.Map: 18:25, 90 x 125 cm.Safety: 6:1, 90 x 15 cm.Story: 1:1, 25 cm of diameter.

SintaxAn intuitive sintax was built in the signs, having successful signalling projects and graphic language logics as references. The arrows in the directional signs will always be, in relation to the text, in the side that they are pointing for. An arrow pointing right or upper-right will always be on the right side of the text. This deminors reading mistakes.All the verbal languages used is this signalling system are ocidental, thus being expecteda left-to-right reading. This is way the pictograms are situated on the left side of its verbal correspondents. They can be read faster also without relying on each

readers native language, enhancing the reading experience. The trilingual verbal text serves as a complement to the pictogramas, specially when used with recognizable pictograms as the ones referring to specific elements of Bosque Alemão. The Indicative signs aims to point, subjetively, to the text inside the sign itself. This happens because these signs will be installed in the very place they indicate. The ludic signs have, as a basic sintax, the presence of title and optional text in the upper or lower part. The Map signs present the title only in the upper part. The signs indicating the order of the story are the most simple: they present a circle surrounding centralized numerals.

Construção FísicaÀ exceção das placas do tipo História, (cerâmica impressa) os outros tipos compartilham os mesmos materiais: Base da Placa: chapa PVC aprox. 1 cm de espes-sura; Setas: mdf envernizado; Informações: adesivo vinil recortado e/ou impresso.

PadronizaçãoA primeira solução de design é instituir a padronização do sistema de sinalização dentro do parque.Estabeleceu-se que haveria 5 padrões básicos de placas: Indi-cativa, Direcional, Lúdica, Mapa e História. Quando placas destes tipos são colocadas juntas umas as outras, este conjunto recebe a denominação de placa Mista. Estipulou-se medidas e regras de proporções para as placas:Indicativa: 4:1, 90 x 22,5 cm.Direcional: 6:1, 90 x 15 cm.Lúdica*: proporções variáveis; medida em múltiplos de 15 cm.Mapa: 18:25, 90 x 125 cm.Segurança: 6:1, 90 x 15 cm.História: 1:1, 25 cm de diâmetro.

SintaxeConstruiu-se uma sintaxe intuitiva nas placas, com base em projetos de sinalização reconhecidos e na lógica da linguagem gráfica. O primeiro passo no projeto foi levantar os principais pontos de referência no Bosque Alemão. Este processo se deu por meio de imagens via satélite, fotografias georreferenciadas captadas no bosque e mapas existentes do local, além da própria visita de campo. Os pontos de referência foram listados, nomeados e numerados, dando origem a uma tabela dos principais itens de sinalização a serem criados e do conteúdo de cada um deles.

Der erste Schritt im Projekt war es, die wichtigsten Bezugspunkte im Inneren Bosque Alemão übersehen. Dieser Prozess wurde im Rahmen der Verwend-ung von Satellitenbildern durchgeführt, vor Ort erfasst georeferenzierte Bilder und Karten vorhanden. Diese Bezug-spunkte wurden aufgeführt, benannt und nummeriert, erzeugen Sie ein Diagramm, das die wichtigsten Elemente Signal-isierung geschaffen werden und den Inhalt eines jeden ihnen.

The first step in the project was to overlook the main reference points inside Bosque Alemão. This process was carried within the use of satellite images, in-site captured georeferenced pictures, existent maps and also info from field visits. These reference points have been listed, named and numbered, generating a chart containing the main signalling items to be created and the content of each one them.

O primeiro passo no projeto foi levantar os principais pontos de referência no Bosque Alemão. Este processo se deu por meio de imagens via satélite, fotografias georreferenciadas captadas no bosque e mapas existentes do local, além da própria visita de campo. Os pontos de referência foram listados, nomeados e numerados, dando origem a uma tabela dos principais itens de sinalização a serem criados e do conteúdo de cada um deles.

Der erste Schritt im Projekt war es, die wichtigsten Bezugspunkte im Inneren Bosque Alemão übersehen. Dieser Prozess wurde im Rahmen der Verwend-ung von Satellitenbildern durchgeführt, vor Ort erfasst georeferenzierte Bilder und Karten vorhanden. Diese Bezug-spunkte wurden aufgeführt, benannt und nummeriert, erzeugen Sie ein Diagramm, das die wichtigsten Elemente Signal-isierung geschaffen werden und den Inhalt eines jeden ihnen.

The first step in the project was to overlook the main reference points inside Bosque Alemão. This process was carried within the use of satellite images, in-site captured georeferenced pictures, existent maps and also info from field visits. These reference points have been listed, named and numbered, generating a chart containing the main signalling items to be created and the content of each one them.

Daylight ReadingThe daylight reading test took place in a big balcony. Three paper-on-cardboard prototypes were assem-mbled. These prototypes were mounted in a 1,80 m stall support.The voluntary tooking place in the test was positioned 5,4 m horizontally far from the signs. She had her eyes shut

and, upon request, opened them and started to read. In general matter, the reading was fluid, exceptuating words in german, due to the unfamiliarity the voluntary had with this language.

Pictogram AssociationSimilar to a memory game, 12 pictograms were printed in paper and placed on a table. A group of 12 papers with the same size was then delivered to the voluntaries. Each paper had in it a printed word that reffered to one of the pictograms placed on the table. The players were instructed to position the words close to it’s respective pictograms.Both players finished the task within 48 seconds, which sums up to about 4s per pictogram with word search delay included.The first player completed the job without making any corrections whilst the second made and corrected mistakes along the process.

Twilight ReadingThe test took place in a low light situation (7:20pm in Oporto, PT, during autumm) with, aside for the lightning, the very same aspects as the one made during daylight.The voluntary was not able to read the secondary verbal informations (in german and english) that were written in black. This test resulted in the change of colour of these information from black to white.

Die Signalisierung Projektvali-dierung wurde in einem gener-ischen gemacht und abstrahierte Weise wegen der Unmöglichkeit der Realisierung Tests in Bosque Alemão selber. Drei Tests wurden gemacht: Tageslicht verbale Informationen Lesen; Piktogramme und mündliche Auskünfte Vereins; und Dämmerung verbale Informa-tionen Lesen. Die Tests wurden im Video zur posterioren Evaluierung und Demonstration erfasst.

Daylight LesenDas Tageslicht Lesetest fand in einem großen Balkon. Drei Papier-on-Karton Prototypen zusammengebaut wurden. Diese Prototypen wurden in einem 1,80 m Stall montiert.Die freiwillige tooking Platz im Test 5,4 m horizontal weit von den Zeichen positioniert. Associação de PictogramasEm teste similar a um jogo de memória, 12 pictogramas foram impressos em papel e dispostos sobre uma mesa. Um conjunto de 12 papeis de igual tamanho foi entregue às voluntárias. Em cada papel havia gravada uma palavra que referia-se a algum dos pictogramas dispostos na mesa. Foram instruidas a posicionar as palavras abaixo dos respectivos pictogramas.As duas jogadoras completaram a tarefa em 48 segundos, uma média de 4s por pictograma, incluído tempo de busca pela palavra correspondente.A primeira jogadora completou o processo sem efetuar correções enquanto a segunda constatou erros e

os corrigiu durante o processo, antes de dar o trabalho por terminado.

Leitura no CrepúsculoEfetuado em uma situação de pouca luminosidade (19:20 na cidade do Porto, durante o outono), este teste teve - a exceção da luz - exatamente as mesmas características que o feito à luz do dia.A voluntária não foi apta a realizar leitura das informações verbais secundárias (em alemão e inglês), grafadas em preto. Este teste resultou na troca de cor destas informações verbais para branco.

A validação do projeto de sinalização foi feita de forma genérica e resumida pois não havia a possibilidade de testes no próprio Bosque Alemão.Fizeram-se três testes: leitura das informações verbais a luz do dia, associação das informações verbais com a iconografia utilizada e leitura das informações verbais no crepúsculo. Os testes foram registrados em vídeo para posterior avaliação e demonstração.

Leitura a Luz do DiaO teste de leitura a luz do dia foi feito em uma grande varanda. Foram montados 3 protótipos com páginas de papel impressas coladas sobre placas sobre papelão. Estes protótipos foram afixados em um suporte de aproximadamente 1,80 m de altura em uma configuração de placa mista.A voluntária que participou deste teste foi posicionada, em pé, a 5,4 m da placa. Estava com os olhos fechados e, após indicação, abriu-os e iniciou a leitura da placa. De uma maneira geral a leitura correu de forma fluida, tendo sido interrompida eventualmente nas palavras grafadas em alemão, por tratar-se de uma língua pouco usual para a voluntária.

Each paper had in it a printed word that reffered to one of the pictograms placed on the table. The players were instructed to position the words close to it’s respective pictograms.Both players finished the task within 48 seconds, which sums up to about 4s per pictogram with word search delay included.The first player completed the job without making any corrections whilst the second made and corrected mistakes along the process.

Twilight ReadingThe test took place in a low light situation (7:20pm in Oporto, PT, during autumm) with, aside for the lightning, the very same aspects as the one made during daylight.The voluntary was not able to read the secondary verbal informations (in german and english) that were written in black. This test resulted in the change of colour of these information from black to white.

Die Signalisierung Projektvali-dierung wurde in einem gener-ischen gemacht und abstrahierte Weise wegen der Unmöglichkeit der Realisierung Tests in Bosque Alemão selber. Drei Tests wurden gemacht: Tageslicht verbale Informationen Lesen; Piktogramme und mündliche Auskünfte Vereins; und Dämmerung verbale Informa-tionen Lesen. Die Tests wurden im Video zur posterioren Evaluierung und Demonstration erfasst.

Daylight LesenDas Tageslicht Lesetest fand in einem großen Balkon. Drei Papier-on-Karton Prototypen zusammengebaut wurden. Diese Prototypen wurden in einem 1,80 m Stall montiert.Die freiwillige tooking Platz im Test 5,4 m horizontal weit von den Zeichen positioniert. Sie hatte die Augen geschlossen und auf Wunsch, öffnete sie und begannzu lesen.In einer allgemeinen Angelegenheit war die Lesung Flüssigkeit, exceptuating Wörter in Deutsch, aufgrund der Unkenntnis der freiwilligen mit dieser Sprache hatte.

Piktogramm VerbandÄhnlich wie bei einem Memory-Spiel wurden 12 Piktogramme auf Papier gedruckt und auf einen Tisch

Associação de PictogramasEm teste similar a um jogo de memória, 12 pictogramas foram impressos em papel e dispostos sobre uma mesa. Um conjunto de 12 papeis de igual tamanho foi entregue às voluntárias. Em cada papel havia gravada uma palavra que referia-se a algum dos pictogramas dispostos na mesa. Foram instruidas a posicionar as palavras abaixo dos respectivos pictogramas.As duas jogadoras completaram a tarefa em 48 segundos, uma média de 4s por pictograma, incluído tempo de busca pela palavra correspondente.A primeira jogadora completou o processo sem efetuar correções enquanto a segunda constatou erros e

os corrigiu durante o processo, antes de dar o trabalho por terminado.

Leitura no CrepúsculoEfetuado em uma situação de pouca luminosidade (19:20 na cidade do Porto, durante o outono), este teste teve - a exceção da luz - exatamente as mesmas características que o feito à luz do dia.A voluntária não foi apta a realizar leitura das informações verbais secundárias (em alemão e inglês), grafadas em preto. Este teste resultou na troca de cor destas informações verbais para branco.

A validação do projeto de sinalização foi feita de forma genérica e resumida pois não havia a possibilidade de testes no próprio Bosque Alemão.Fizeram-se três testes: leitura das informações verbais a luz do dia, associação das informações verbais com a iconografia utilizada e leitura das informações verbais no crepúsculo. Os testes foram registrados em vídeo para posterior avaliação e demonstração.

Leitura a Luz do DiaO teste de leitura a luz do dia foi feito em uma grande varanda. Foram montados 3 protótipos com páginas de papel impressas coladas sobre placas sobre papelão. Estes protótipos foram afixados em um suporte de aproximadamente 1,80 m de altura em uma configuração de placa mista.A voluntária que participou deste teste foi posicionada, em pé, a 5,4 m da placa. Estava com os olhos fechados e, após indicação, abriu-os e iniciou a leitura da placa. De uma maneira geral a leitura correu de forma fluida, tendo sido interrompida eventualmente nas palavras grafadas em alemão, por tratar-se de uma língua pouco usual para a voluntária.
