General Description The model VGU-06 can control and block the abrasive fluid sewage. They are strong equipments to be installed

between flanges, with Wafer Total Lug body, which facilitates the installation and gives a better distribution of the

clamping between the flanges. With Sealing system through Interchangeable Sleeves made of special elastomer,

those which have permanent contact with the knife, this model assures excellent performance, durability and 100%

tightness in both directions, on open / close positions, no accumulation point and contact with the fluid along the

body.

Body

Designed in two-pieces cast-iron

Wafer (Compact) and Total LUG (all the holes for Flange Fixation).

Gate

Built on flat steel plate, designed in 4 minimum factor of safety as the tension (pull) and 2 as the minimum factor of

compressive and shear force.

Special FKB Coverage: gives significant higher performance of the wearing resistance due to abrasion

Sealing System / Covering of the passage

Strong Elastomer Covering ring, to ensure Facial sealing system with the scraper, inserted inside the body of the

valve, so that:

Covers the passage, protecting the body from the abrasive fluid;

Ensures 100% of tightening on open and close positions, whereas the valve is in open / close positions, the

interchangeable sealing rings compress the knife, assuring full bore and minimum stress to the sealing ring;

Does not allow obstruction of passage, ensuring longer life to the fence and very low loss of flow and / or

turbulence;

No need of sealing gaskets between the valve and pipe flanges because the sealing rings cover the face-to-

face of the valve.





FKB Natural rubber: Very high resistance to abrasion, strain, tear strength and flexibility. Limitations: Low resistance to hydrocarbons, greases, oils, acids and ozone. Maximum temperature 72°C. EPDM: Good abrasion resistance, stress, tear strength and flexibility. Limitations: Low resistance to most fluids based on mineral oil, oil and grease. Maximum temperature 110ºC. Viton: High resistance to work at high temperatures. Excellent resistance to chemical fluids, acids, hydrocarbons,

steam and oils in general. Low tear resistance and oxygenated solvents. Maximum temperature 200°C.

Retention Box

Made of Carbon Steel with drainage system and tamps to make the cleaning easier.

Note:

- It’s very important the period cleaning / drainage of the retention box, in order to not accumulate the fluid, then

causing lock of the open / close operation.

- The passage of the fluid through the retention box occurs only during the valve operation, when the valve is totally

opened or closed, there is no passage.

Superior Sealing (Box Packing)

Made of lubricated gasket in order to ensure no leakage from the Preme and also lubricates the knife to increase

the life of the Passage Seal (Interchangeable sleeves).

Guide of the Knife

Made of metal has the function of guiding the knife so as to eliminate any possibility of misalignment, which would

damage the hoses.

Reinforced Support (Castle)

Built by 4 (four) steel formed sheets and reinforced, which guarantee better support and eliminates the possibility of

warpage of the castle and possible failure of the body in the fixation area.

Stem

Made of stainless steel and designed to support the operation of the valve under maximum pressure, then the level

of slenderness is less than 200.

Hand Starter: Stem is designed to transmit, at least, twice the manual engine output.

Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Electrical Actuators: Stem is designed to transmit, at least, 1.25 times the actuator effort

output.

Protection of the Stem

All valves are equipped with flexible protection on the rod so as to prevent corrosion and / or locking of the valve

due to fouling. When the valve has Manual or Electric Actuator drive, this will also have a protection tube for

External stem (above the steering wheel or electric actuator).

Operation

Manual:

- Manual valves to DN 10" are manufactured with torque relief system and operated directly by the wheel.

- Manual valves to DN 12" and larger are manufactured with reducer gears and operated by steering wheel.

- When necessary the valves DN 6 "to 10" can also be manufactured with gear reducer, but must be requested at

the budget stage;

- It is not suggested manual override for DN valves higher than 24", it will require many turns on the steering wheel

and the time for full operation of the valve is too long, thus increasing the knife display, processing speed / fluid and

can wear the hoses and / or knife.

Strong and Reforced Pneumatic Actuator: Designed and developed to operate with, at least, 4bar of working

pressure.

Strong and Reforced Hydraulic Oil Actuator: Designed and developed to operate with, at least, 100bar of working

pressure.

Electric Actuator: Designed and developed to operate, at least, 150% of minimum necessary torque to operate the

valve under maximum pressure.
