Harlem Gospel Choir

“Harlem Gospel Choir are angels in Harlem”. Foi assim que Bono Vox, voca-lista dos U2, descreveu aquele que é provavelmente o melhor coro Gospel do Mundo. É certamente o mais conhecido, relevante e aclamado, tendo já cantado ao lado de ou para gente tão importante como Nelson Mandela, o Papa João Paulo II, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross, U2 ou Gorilaz, entre tantos outros, há quase três décadas de história. Pelo sétimo ano consecutivo, o Harlem Gospel Choir troca Nova Iorque por Portugal para nos trazer o con-certo de Natal mais emblemático da música Norte Americana, com os hits que se fazem ouvir nas ruas, parques, casas e igrejas da Big Apple. Desta vez apresentam também um tributo especial a B.B. King, celebrando a memória do músico.

“Harlem Gospel Choir are angels in Harlem”. This is how U2’s, singer Bono Vox described what is possibly the best Gospel choir in the world. It is cer-tainly most popular and acclaimed, having already performed with or for important figures such as Nelson Mandela, John Paul II, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross, U2 or Gorillaz, and many others, for almost three decades. For the seventh year in a row, the Harlem Gospel Choir swaps New York for Portugal to bring us the most emblematic Christmas concert of North American music, with hits that can be heard in the streets, parks, homes and churches of the Big Apple. This time the choir presents a special tri-bute to B. B. King in celebration of his legacy.

O Quebra-Nozes .The Nutcracker

Baseado no conto “O Quebra-Nozes e o Rei dos Ratos”, de E. T. A. Hoff-mann, o bailado conta-nos a história de uma menina que sonha com um Príncipe – Quebra-Nozes. Numa feroz batalha contra o Rei dos Ratos, Quebra-Nozes encontra-se em grave perigo. Clarinha, vencendo os seus próprios medos, entra nesta batalha e lança os seus sapatinhos aniquilan-do a terrível criatura e quebrando o feitiço; Quebra-Nozes torna-se num deslumbrante Príncipe.

Based on ‘The Nutcracker and the Mouse King’ by E. T. A. Hoffmann, this bal-let tells the story of a girl who dreams about a Prince – the Nutcracker, who faces great danger in a fierce battle against the Mouse King. Overcoming her own fears, the young Clara finds herself in this battle and annihilates the horrendous creature with her own shoe and breaks the spell. The Nut-cracker thus becomes a handsome Prince.

Para que se cumpra a tradição, a Junta de Freguesia de Querença, em conjunto com a Paróquia da Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Assunção, organiza mais uma festa das Chouriças. Esta festa conta com uma procissão, prova de chouriças assadas e muita animação musical.

In line with tradition, the Junta de Freguesia de Queren-ça, together with the Parish of Nossa Senhora da Assun-ção, will be organising another edition of the Sausage Fayre. The festivities include the procession, grilled sau-sage tasting sessions and plenty of live music.
