STANDARD SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION

NATURAL CLAY

PBS Distributors has developed a unique system

for Tonalityclay tiles. The advantages of this

system are:

Aluminium proles with 15 year guarantee

Cavity with ventilation

Unique feature of sealing vertical joint, providing

4 layers of defence against water inltration

Easy installation and replacement

Anti-locking system to prevent tile from being

forcibly removed

Light weight system has excellent earthquake

resistance

Tonalitycladding tiles show a prole on the reverse and are attached onto a vertical aluminium support system.

For the interior and exterior corners PBS Distributors

provide a solution with aluminium proles, that can

be powder coated in custom colours. Mitre joints

are also possible; contact PBS Distributors for more

T-LINE SYSTEMS FOR STAGGERED PATTERNS

TONALITYT-Line

The TONALITYT-Line system creates the

classic appearance of brickwork. It is suitable

for all kinds of tiles and tile sizes.

T-Line uses the same proles as the standard

system but has an alternative solution for the

vertical seal between the tiles.

THE EXCITEMENT IS IN THE DETAIL

NATURAL CLAY

Penetrations through Tonalitytiles are precision cut by

PBS Distributors using CNC water jet technology in the

Auckland production facility.

The xing pins will be concealed, when the ceramic tile

is in place. These pins are easily accessible if the need

arises for any maintenance in the future.

The Baguette and Lamelle tile are a classic red clay tile, to match in well withthe facade tile. The sun screens aesthetic appearance compliments other

NZBC:-

Clause B1 STRUCTURE: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2,

and B1.3.4 for the relevant physical conditions of B1.3.3.

Clause B2 DURABILITY: The system meets

Permformance B2.3.1(b), not less than 15 years.

Clause E2 EXTERNAL MOISTURE: Vertical walls

incorporating this system as an exterior cladding can

meet Perfomance E2.3.2 and E2.3.5.

Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: The

system meets Performance F2.3.1. The system will not

present a health hazard to people.

Manufacturing

Colour fastening without additional treatment.

The finest processing of our raw materials ensures the

extremely dense structure of the entire tile body,

resulting in a high level of water resistance. This

reduces staining of the facade.

Clay as a Raw MaterialAs a raw material clay has been well known since ancient times. Clays are the product of weathering and erosion of the Earths

crust. It occurs in continental areas and coastal areas.

The variety of clay is dependent on the physical and environmental conditions prevaling at the time of formation. These

conditions predetermine the clays characteristics producing many varieties for different applications and processes.

The quality clays used to manufacture the TONALITYproducts, are quarried in the Westerwald area of Germany. These clays

are world reknown for their particular purity.

Manufacturingprocedure

TONALITYcladding tiles are

manufactured in ultra-modern

production plants, using a vacuum

extrusion method. In the course of

the patented Keralisprocedure,

the raw material clay is dried,

processed into the finest powered

clay and completely dyed in finely

graduated ratios of colour mixtures.

The products are subsequently fired

at temperatures of approx 1,200C.

A bonding process will result from

the combination of high quality raw

material and high baking

temperatures.

A smooth impermeable surface is

the result.

The production of TONALITY

cladding tiles are in accordance

with DIN EN ISO 9001 Quality

Management System and DIN EN

ISO 14000 Environmental

Management System.
