Resumo:

Para inserir no contexto dos alunos a motivação e o

interesse que vai se perdendo no percurso de sua

caminhada escolar, pensou-se em uma prática inovadora

que torne a aprendizagem mais significativa para os

alunos. Assim, o objetivo desse trabalho é despertar o

interesse pela aprendizagem de língua inglesa e dar

oportunidade para que os alunos também entrem em

contato com literatura em língua inglesa. Para tanto, o

material escolhido é o conto de fadas Snow White, pois

esse tipo de texto tem o poder de prender a atenção, de

entreter e fazer reflexões sobre vários temas importantes

para o desenvolvimento pessoal. Também será utilizado o

filme Mirror Mirror, visto que muito do interesse da

criança/adolescente de hoje gira em torno do audiovisual.

O projeto será aplicado no Colégio Estadual Professora

Maria Ignácia para os alunos do 8º ano. Serão realizadas

atividades de pré-leitura e questionários referentes ao

conto e ao filme selecionado, após a leitura dos textos,

serão realizadas atividades de interpretação e também

produções escritas. Por meio do contato com a literatura e

o filme, espera-se que os alunos possam refletir; comparar

contrastar valores e atitudes e, a partir disso, desenvolver

a consciência da importância que a língua e a literatura

desempenham no meio em que vivem.

Apresentação

Esta Unidade Didática visa atender ao que foi proposto no Projeto de Intervenção

Pedagógica, que tem como o objetivo geral de, a partir da leitura dos contos de fadas,

despertar o interesse pela aprendizagem da língua inglesa e proporcionar, por meio disso, a

oportunidade de que os alunos também entrem em contato com literatura em língua inglesa.

Para este trabalho, o material escolhido é o conto de fadas Snow White. Tal tipo de

texto tem o poder de prender a atenção, de entreter e fazer reflexões sobre vários temas

importantes para o desenvolvimento da criança. Os contos trabalham com a fantasia, com o

maravilhoso e, desse modo, podem ajudar as crianças a aprender a lidar com suas emoções.

Dessa forma, os contos de fadas em geral, tem o papel de preparar a criança para a vida. Sobre

essa contribuição dos contos de fadas para as crianças, afirma Bettelheim (1980, p.20):

Enquanto diverte a criança, o conto de fadas a esclarece sobre si mesma, e favorece

o desenvolvimento de sua personalidade. Oferece significado em tantos níveis

diferentes, e enriquece a existência da criança de tantos modos que nenhum livro

pode fazer justiça à multidão e diversidade de contribuições que esses contos dão à

vida da criança.

Como o citado acima, é imprescindível uma prática pedagógica utilizando os contos

de fadas, pois, além de ser importante para o desenvolvimento psicológico e a formação do

indivíduo, está de acordo com o que se propõem as Diretrizes Curriculares Estaduais

(doravante DCEs) no que se refere ao ensino da língua como resgate da função social e

cultural (PARANÁ 2008, p.53).

Além do trabalho com o conto de fadas, será utilizado também o filme Mirror Mirror,

que pode ser visto como um recontar do conto de fadas, usando uma forma diferente e

atrativa, pois com o avanço da tecnologia, os alunos têm muito interesse em mídias

audiovisuais. Assim, o recurso fílmico é uma prática indispensável hoje em dia na tentativa de

se obter sucesso na educação. Afirma Napolitano (apud COSTA 2009, p.6) que “Trabalhar

com o cinema em sala de aula é ajudar a escola a reencontrar a cultura ao mesmo tempo

cotidiana e elevada."

Ainda Planque (1974, apud CRISTÓVÃO, 2007, p.231) ressalta: ”a utilização de

técnicas audiovisuais já não é, apenas, um meio de difusão do conhecimento, mas um

verdadeiro instrumento de formação para o indivíduo”. O professor, ao fazer uso da mídia

fílmica, pode possibilitar ao aluno extrair diferentes significados para sua vida e fazer a

interação com diferentes linguagens.

Ao trabalhar literatura e cinema como meio de motivação para o ensino da língua

inglesa, pretende-se abordar a leitura crítica dos dois textos (considerando-se aqui, o filme,

também como texto), pois está fundamentado nas DCEs que texto e leitura são dois elementos

indissociáveis, e que um não se realiza sem o outro (PARANÁ, 2008, p.58).

A Unidade Didática será desenvolvida no Colégio Estadual Professora Maria Ignácia

com os alunos do 8º ano e será dividida em oito atividades que envolvem leitura,

interpretação e produção escrita. O desenvolvimento da oralidade será realizado como

conclusão da Unidade, em que os alunos elaborarão uma peça teatral para ser apresentada na

escola.

Introdução

A preocupação constante do professor é como fazer com que o aluno fique motivado

para aprender a língua inglesa e encontre um sentido no seu aprendizado. Segundo as DCEs:

Propõe-se que a aula de língua estrangeira moderna constitua um espaço para que o

aluno reconheça e compreenda a diversidade linguística e cultural, de modo que se

envolva discursivamente e perceba possibilidades de construção de significados em

relação ao mundo em que vive. Espera-se que o aluno compreenda que os

significados são sociais e historicamente construídos e, portanto, passíveis de

transformação na prática social (PARANÁ 2008, p.53).

Por essa razão, caberá ao professor proporcionar um espaço de interação entre

professor e aluno e a aproximação com a língua, levando em consideração as situações do

cotidiano do aluno. Assim, a proposta de trabalho é a utilização do conto de fadas como

estratégia de incentivo à aprendizagem da língua inglesa e também oferecer uma oportunidade

para que os alunos entrem em contato com a literatura em língua inglesa.

O ensino da língua inglesa por meio da literatura é muito importante, pois o aluno

poderá relacionar os conteúdos com os costumes e ideologias de um determinado grupo e terá

contato com contextos culturais diferentes. Por meio de textos literários, o professor poderá

levar o aluno a viajar na imaginação, pois ao lerem a história tanto na língua materna como na

língua inglesa, os alunos se envolverão com ela, e poderão viver uma experiência onde se

constrói um espaço entre o imaginário e o real, além de ver a língua inglesa funcionando

enquanto prática social.

A escolha do texto narrativo contos de fadas se deu porque o seu conteúdo contempla

temas muito comuns de relacionamentos familiares e que vão ao encontro dos interesses dos

alunos. Pensa-se que a indisciplina dos alunos talvez seja resultante da desestruturação

familiar, isso nos faz pensar que, alguns pais despreparados hoje em dia podem gerar filhos

imaturos, sem convicções e perspectivas e que tentam encontrar na escola um significado para

sua vida. Conforme Bettelheim (1980 p.19), “Hoje as crianças não crescem mais dentro da

segurança de uma família numerosa, ou de uma comunidade bem integrada”. Sabe-se que as

crianças levam para a sala de aula a sua realidade e a experiência do mundo em que vivem, é

por isso que muitas vezes essa criança chega à escola desmotivada e sem estímulos para a

aprendizagem.

Segundo Bettelheim (1980, p.11), “hoje, como no passado, a tarefa mais importante e

também mais difícil na criação de uma criança é ajudá-la a encontrar significado na vida”.

Assim, nota-se a grande importância que a literatura tem na formação da personalidade, pois

através do conteúdo dos contos de fadas pode-se ajudar a criança a resolver conflitos

interiores que trazem consigo e que podem ser solucionados.

Em decorrência da tecnologia avançada e o contato da criança com as mais variadas

mídias no dia a dia, seu interesse gira cada vez mais em torno das mídias audiovisuais, por

isso a utilização do filme em sala de aula é um ótimo recurso para inovar a prática

pedagógica. Napolitano (apud COSTA 2009, p.6) afirma que

Trabalhar com o cinema em sala de aula é ajudar a escola a reencontrar a cultura ao

mesmo tempo cotidiana e elevada, pois o cinema é o campo no qual a estética, o

lazer, a ideologia e os valores sociais mais amplos são sintetizados numa mesma

obra de arte.

Cristóvão (2007, p.231) comenta que o filme não será tratado em sala de aula, apenas

como um recurso didático ou ilustrativo de um dado conteúdo ministrado, mas como um

objeto cultural, uma visão de mundo de quem o criou. O filme na sala de aula não deve ter um

papel secundário, deve-se dar a mesma importância que se dá ao texto escrito, pois ambos têm

uma linguagem rica de significados. Almeida (1994, p.10 apud CRISTÓVÃO, 2007, p.231)

salienta que quando assistimos a um filme, lemos concomitantemente as vozes e as imagens:

“É claro que no filme os significados fazem-se não só de vozes, mas de todos os sons e

imagens que se sucedem”.

As imagens e as figuras em movimento têm uma linguagem própria que é capaz de

provocar emoções, despertar a curiosidade, enfim envolver o aluno para que este possa

interagir, fazer uma leitura crítica e uma interpretação com novos significados

O texto fílmico é um recurso indispensável hoje em dia para maior eficácia na

educação, principalmente no ensino de línguas, pois o aluno que se vê numa sociedade

informatizada e tecnológica precisa estar em contato com outras linguagens, principalmente

aquelas que privilegiam o audiovisual. O trabalho com a linguagem cinematográfica durante a

execução desse Projeto poderá, dessa forma, estimular o interesse pela aprendizagem de

língua inglesa e pela leitura, uma vez que o filme pode ser visto como uma nova forma de

contar a história que foi lida, porém, de uma forma diferente e atrativa, valorizando outros

modos de expressão.

Conversa com os alunos sobre a influência da língua inglesa em nosso

cotidiano

Duração: 03 aulas

Objetivos: Possibilitar a reflexão da importância que tem a língua

inglesa, e estimular a percepção dos alunos para observarem como o

inglês está presente no cotidiano e tem influência sobre os brasileiros.

Procedimento: Iniciar com um diálogo referente à disciplina, fazer um

questionamento para os alunos sobre o que pensam da língua inglesa e

como temos influência do inglês em nosso dia a dia. Para isso assistir ao

vídeo que mostrará como o inglês influencia o cotidiano dos brasileiros.

Depois pedir que observem essa influência em seu cotidiano e tragam

exemplos para a sala de aula (trechos de músicas, rótulos de produtos,

propagandas e nomes de estabelecimentos comerciais, etc.)

Na próxima aula, dividir os alunos em grupos e confeccionar cartazes

com o tema separando em categorias.

aula de rótulos, recortes de revistas e trechos de músicas em inglês que

conseguir encontrar:

tema: A influência da língua inglesa no dia a dia dos brasileiros. Colem os

recortes em categorias, por exemplo: rótulos de alimentos, propagandas,

músicas, etc.

Reading and Writing Activities

Duração: 02 aulas

Objetivo: Permitir aos alunos que adquiram conhecimento sobre a

definição de contos e a biografia dos autores; permitir que teçam

comentários e se expressem a partir da leitura que fizerem dos textos e

do questionário em duplas.

Procedimento: Fazer um questionamento com os alunos a respeito do

conhecimento que eles têm sobre os contos de fadas, perguntar se

lembram do conto: Branca de Neve e os Sete Anões e também se

conhecem os autores Irmãos Grimm (onde nasceram, a época que

nasceram, obras que produziram, etc.). Após isso, fazer a leitura da

definição de contos de fadas e da biografia dos autores. Pedir que os

alunos realizem também um trabalho (em pares) com questões pessoais

sobre o nome completo, local de nascimento, contos favoritos, etc. e

depois façam a apresentação para a classe. Em seguida explicar o gênero

textual biografia tomando como exemplo a biografia dos Irmãos Grimm e

pedir que produzam uma autobiografia e, com os dados coletados dos

colegas produzam também uma biografia do colega.

time", to highlight that the subjects do not refer only to this time and place, the

reader finds characters and situations that are part of their daily lives and their

individual universe with conflicts, fears and dreams. The rivalry of generations,

the coexistence of children and adults, stages of life (birth, maturity, old age

and death) as well as feelings that are part of each (love, hate, jealousy and

friendship) are presented to provide an explanation of the world that around us

and allows us to create ways to deal with it.

What do you know about Brothers Grimm ?

Born in Hanau, Jacob Grimm in 1785 and Wilhelm Grimm in 1786, the

Brothers Grimm studied law with his father, but started to dedicate fully to

literature and ended up leaving the advocacy side. In 1830, both entered a

German university as teachers. Scholars incessant German language, worked in

fields such as History and Philology. But the great brand of Grimm was his

narrative excellence.

An outstanding year for the brothers Grimm was 1837, when they

demonstrated disproved ideas about the king of Germany and were expelled

from the University of Göttingen with five teachers. Four years later, the

University of Berlin invites them to take teaching positions again. The brothers

lived in this town until his last days, Wilhelm died in 1859 and Jacob in 1863.

Objetivo: Motivar os alunos a entrar em contato com literatura em

inglês. Permitir que, por meio do conto, os alunos possam refletir,

comparar e contrastar valores e atitudes. Possibilitar uma leitura crítica

do texto.

Procedimento: Leitura do texto pelo professor, pedir que os alunos

leiam também (cada um lê um trecho). Assistir a história em vídeo (pode

ser no data show ou na TV pen drive), pedir que prestem atenção na

pronúncia das palavras. Após isso, fazer questionamentos sobre o texto

escrito, quais palavras conhecem, pedir que pesquisem as que não

conhecem. Depois do questionamento oral, fazer a interpretação escrita.

It was the middle of winter, and the snow-flakes were falling like feathers

from the sky, and a queen sat at her window working, and her embroidery-frame

was of ebony. And as she worked, gazing at times out on the snow, she pricked

her finger, and there fell from it three drops of blood on the snow. And when she

saw how bright and red it looked, she said to herself, "Oh that I had a child as

white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood of the embroidery

frame!"

Not very long after she had a daughter, with a skin as white as snow, lips

as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony, and she was named Snow-white.

And when she was born the queen died.

After a year had gone by the king took another wife, a beautiful woman,

but proud and overbearing, and she could not bear to be surpassed in beauty by

any one. She had a magic looking-glass, and she used to stand before it, and

look in it, and say:

Looking-glass upon the wall, who is fairest of us all?

And the looking-glass would answer:

“You are fairest of them all.”

And she was contented, for she knew that the looking-glass spoke the

truth. Now, Snow-White was growing prettier and prettier, and when she was

seven years old she was as beautiful as day, far more so than the queen herself.

So one day when the queen went to her mirror and said:

“Looking-glass upon the wall, who is fairest of us all?

It answered:

“Queen, you are full fair,'tis true,

But Snow White fairer is than you.”

This gave the Queen a great shock, and she became yellow and green with

envy, and from that hour her heart turned against Snow White, and she hated her.

At last she sent for a huntsman, and said:

“Take the child out into the woods, so that I may set eyes on her no more.

You must put her to death, and bring me her heart for a token.”

The huntsman consented, and led her away; but when he drew his cutlass

to pierce Snow-white's innocent heart, she began to weep, and to say:

"Oh, dear huntsman, do not take my life; I will go away into the wild

wood, and never come home again."

And as she was so lovely the huntsman had pity on her, and said:

"Away with you then, poor child. “

Just at moment a young wild boar came running by, so he caught and

killed it, and taking out its heart, he brought it to the queen for a token. And it

was salted and cooked, and the wicked woman ate it up, thinking that there was

an end of Snow White.

Now, when the poor child found herself quite alone in the wild woods, she

felt full of terror. Then she began to run. She ran as long as her feet would carry

her; and when the evening drew near she came to a little house, and she went

inside to a rest.

Everything there was very small, but as pretty and clean as possible. There

stood the little table ready laid, and covered with a white cloth, and seven little

plates, and seven knives and forks, and drinking-cups. By the wall stood seven

little beds, side by side, covered with clean white quilts. Snow-white, being very

hungry and thirsty, ate from each plate a little porridge and bread, and drank out

of each little cup a drop of wine, so as not to finish up one portion alone. After

that she felt so tired that she lay down on one of the beds, but it did not seem to

suit her; one was too long, another too short, but at last the seventh was quite

right; and so she lay down upon it, committed herself to heaven, and fell asleep.

When it was quite dark, the masters of the house came home. They were

seven dwarfs, whose occupation was to dig underground among the mountains.

When they had lighted their seven candles, and it was quite light in the little

house, they saw that someone must have been in, as everything was not in the

same order in which they left it. The first said:

"Who has been sitting in my little chair?"

The second said:

"Who has been eating from my little plate?

Then the first one, looking round, saw a hollow in his bed, and cried:

"Who has been lying on my bed?"

And the others came running, and cried:

"Someone has been on our beds too!"

But when the seventh looked at his bed, he saw little Snow-white lying

there asleep. Then he told the others, who came running up, crying out in their

astonishment, and holding up their seven little candles to throw a light upon

Snow-white:

"O goodness! O gracious!" cried they, "what beautiful child is this?"

And were so full of joy to see her that they did not wake her, but let her

sleep on.

When it was morning, and Snow White awoke and saw the seven dwarfs,

she was very frightened; but they seemed quite friendly, and asked her what her

name was, and she told them; and then they asked how she came to be in their

house.

And she related to them how her step-mother had wished her to be put to

death, and how the huntsman had spared her life, and how she had run the whole

day long, until at last she had found their little house. Then the dwarfs said:

"If you will keep our house for us, and cook, and wash, and make the

beds, and sew and knit, and keep everything tidy and clean, you may stay with

us, and you shall lack nothing."

"With all my heart," said Snow-white.

And so she stayed, and kept the house in good order. All the day long the

maiden was left alone, and good little dwarfs warned her, saying:

“Beware of your step-mother, she will soon know you are here. Let no

one into the house.”

Now the queen, having eaten Snow White's heart, as she supposed, felt

quite sure that now she was the first and fairest, and so she came to the mirror,

and said:

“Looking-glass upon the wall,

who is fairest of us all”?

And the glass answered:

“Queen, thou art of beauty rare, but Snow White living in the glen with

the seven little men, is a thousand times more fair.”

Then she was very angry, for the glass always spoke the truth, and she

knew that the huntsman must have deceived her, and that Snow-white must still

be living. And she thought and thought how she could manage to make an end of

her, for as long as she was not the fairest in the land, envy left her no rest. At last

she thought of a plan; she painted her face and dressed herself like an old pedlar

woman, so that no one would have known her. In this disguise she went across

the seven mountains, until she came to the house of the seven little dwarfs, and

she knocked at the door and cried:

"Fine wares to sell! fine wares to sell!"

Snow-white peeped out of the window and cried:

"Good-day, good woman, what have you to sell?"

"Good wares, fine wares," answered she, "laces of all colours; "and she held up

a piece that was woven of variegated silk.

"I need not be afraid of letting in this good woman," thought Snow-white.

And she unbarred the door and bought the pretty lace.

"What a figure you are, child!" said the old woman.

"Come and let me lace you properly for once."

Snow-white, suspecting nothing, stood up before her, and let her lace her with

the new lace; but the old woman laced so quick and tight that it took Snow-

white's breath away, and she fell down as dead.

“Now you have done with being the fairest,"said the old woman as she hastened

away.

Not long after that, towards evening, the seven dwarfs came home, and were

terrified to see their dear Snow-white lying on the ground, without life or

motion; they raised her up, and when they saw how tightly she was laced they

cut the lace in two; then she began to draw breath, and little by little she returned

to life. When the dwarfs heard what had happened they said:

"The old pedlar woman was no other than the wicked queen; you must beware

of letting anyone in when we are not here!"

And when the wicked woman got home she went to her glass and said :

“Looking-glass against the wall,

who is fairest of us all?

And it answered as before:

'Queen, thou art of beauty rare, but Snow White living in the glen with the seven

little men is a thousand times more fair.”

When she heard that she was so struck with surprise that all the blood left her

heart, for she knew that Snow-white must still be living.

"But now," said she, "I will think of something that will be her ruin.”

The queen dressed herself up to look like another different sort of old woman

again. And she went across the mountains and came to the house of the seven

dwarfs and lied for Snow White, sold for her a poisoned comb. More upon a

time the seven dwarfs help Snow White of wicked step-mother.

And the queen went home and stood before the looking-glass and said:

“Looking-glass against the wall, who is fairest of us all?

And the looking-glass answered as before:

“Queen, thou art of beauty rare, but Snow White living in the glen with the

seven little men is a thousand times more fair.”

When she heard the looking-glass speak thus she trembled and shook with

anger:

"Snow-white shall die," cried she,"though it should cost me my own life!"

And then she went to a secret lonely chamber, where no one was likely to

come, and there she made a poisonous apple. It was beautiful to look upon,

being white with red cheeks, so that anyone who should see it must long for it,

but whoever ate even a little bit of it must die.

When the apple was ready she painted her face and clothed herself like a

peasant woman, and went across the seven mountains to where the seven dwarfs

lived. And when she knocked at the door Snow-white put her head out of the

window and said:

"I dare not let anybody in; the seven dwarfs told me not."

"All right," answered the woman.

"I can easily get rid of my apples elsewhere. There, I will give you one."

"No," answered Snow-white, "I dare not take anything."

"Are you afraid of poison?" said the woman, "look here, I will cut the apple

in two pieces; you shall have the red side, I will have the white one.

For the apple was so cunningly made, that all the poison was in the rosy half

sides, and they laid her in it, and wrote in golden letters upon it her name, and

that she was a king's daughter. Then they set the coffin out upon the mountain,

and one of them always remained by it to watch.

Now, for a long while Snow-white lay in the coffin and never changed, but

looked as if she were asleep, for she was still as' white as snow, as red as blood,

and her hair was as black as ebony. It happened, however, that one day a king's

son rode through the wood and up to the dwarfs' house, which was near it. He

saw on the mountain the coffin, and beautiful Snow-white within it, and he read

what was written in golden letters upon it . Then he said to the dwarfs:

"Let me have the coffin, and I will give you whatever you like to ask for it."

But the dwarfs told him that they could not part with it for all the gold in the

world. But he said:

"I beseech you to give it me, for I cannot live without looking upon Snow-

white; if you consent I will bring you to great honour, and care for you as if you

were my brethren."

When he so spoke the good little dwarfs had pity upon him and gave him

the coffin, and the king's son called his servants and bid them carry it away on

their shoulders. Now it happened that as they

were going along they stumbled over a bush, and with the shaking the bit of

poisoned apple flew out of her throat. It was not long before she opened her

eyes, threw up the cover of the coffin, and sat up, alive and well.

"Oh dear! where am I?" cried she.

The king's son answered, full of joy, "You are near me," and, relating all that had

happened, he said:

"I would rather have you than anything in the world; come with me to my

father's castle and you shall be my bride."

And Snow-white was kind, and went with him, and their wedding was held

with pomp and great splendour. But Snow-white's wicked step-mother was also

bidden to the feast, and when she had dressed herself in beautiful clothes she

went to her looking-glass and said:

The looking-glass answered,

''O Queen, although you are of beauty rare,

The young bride is a thousand times more fair."

Then she railed and cursed, and was beside herself with disappointment and

she knew her for Snow-white, and could not stir from the place for anger and

past em diversas situações.

Procedimento: Explicação do simple past utilizando os verbos do texto

Snow White como exemplos, frisando que os verbos do conto estão todos

no passado porque é uma narrativa contando fatos que já ocorreram,

após isso realizar atividades de fixação com ajuda do dicionário. O

professor dará atendimento individual para os alunos que necessitarem de

diferenciada, ampliar o vocabulário e desenvolver a criatividade

Procedimento: Diálogo com os alunos a respeito do que é comum

acontecer no início e no final dos contos de fadas; falar das expressões

usadas. Comentar que existe uma Série televisiva que faz referências aos

contos de fadas. Leitura da sinopse da Série: Once Upon a Time e pesquisa

no laboratório de informática ou mesmo em casa sobre o ano de

lançamento, gênero, duração, etc. Após isso, assistir com os alunos o 1º e

2º episódio da 1º temporada da série e sugerir que assistam os

outros episódios posteriormente. Como atividade, os alunos

reescreverão o conto Snow White criando um outro final, trazendo

os personagens para a atualidade.

Segundo Bettelheim ( 1980,p.78) o conto de fadas transmite desde o início,

através da trama, e no seu final a ideia de que a narrativa trata não de fatos

tangíveis ou lugares reais, por exemplo: “Há muito tempo atrás”, “Era uma

vez”, “Num certo país”, esses inícios sugerem que o que irá acontecer não

pertence ao mundo real, é distante da realidade cotidiana.
