Today we have mobile phones, computers,

around the radio and listened to their favourite

pro"rammes, #ust like they did some years later

with T$. %adio broadcasts included not only newsand music, but also variety shows, comedies,

    1

    &

dramas, and many other forms of entertainment.

I still consider it a privile"e to have lived durin" this time, especially as a kid. The radio

developed our ima"ination and creativity' we #ust listened to words and sounds, to people

talkin", and we had to ima"ine their physical appearance and the scenes they were

describin". I remember sittin" on the floor listenin" to The (ldrich family, with the

familiar catchphrases )*enry+ *enry (ldrich+, followed by *enry-s answer, )omin",

/other+). I also remember listenin" to superman stories and feelin" so e0cited andsometimes even nervous, an0ious to know what was "oin" to happen ne0t. In the evenin",

the whole family sat around the radio to listen to The 1oldber"s, a soap opera and

comedy about the home life of a 2ewish family in ew 4ork ity. e never missed an

episode. The fact that we knew people were speakin" at the precise moment we were

listenin" made us feel closer to them.!ource" Cool Zone 8# $exto %ditores (full adapted)
