Fontes de Energia
As Fontes de Energia podem ser: -Fontes Primárias :quando ocorrem na natureza. -Fontes Secundárias : quando são obtidas a partir de outras fontes de energia.
As fontes primárias podem ser renováveis ou não renováveis.

Energias Renováveis
■ As energias renováveis são inesgotáveis, mas limitadas em termos da quantidade de energia que é possível extrair em cada momento;
■ As energias renováveis caracterizam-se pela capacidade que têm de se regenerar e, como tal, serem inesgotáveis e por respeitarem o ambiente.
■ Alguns exemplos:■ O sol ■ O vento ■ A biomassa■ A água dos rios e dos mares

Energias não renováveis
■ As fontes de energia não renováveis são aquelas que se encontram na natureza em quantidades limitadas e se extinguem com a sua utilização.
■ São também consideradas energias sujas , já que sua utilização é causa directa de importantes danos para o meio ambiente e para a sociedade .
■ Alguns exemplos:■ O petróleo■ O gás natural■ O carvão mineral■ Energia nuclear (urânio)

Energias Renováveis
■ Vantagens:1. Podem ser consideradas inesgotáveis à escala humana comparando aos
combustíveis fósseis;
2. Oferecem menos riscos do que a energia nuclear;
3. Conduzem à investigação em novas tecnologias que permitam melhor eficiência energética ;
4. Permitem reduzir as emissões de CO2, melhor a qualidade de Vida (um Ar mais limpo);
■ Desvantagens:1. Custos elevados de investimento e infra-estruturas apropriadas;
2. Impactos visuais negativos no meio ambiente .

Energias não renováveis ■ Vantagens :1. Elevado rendimento energético;
2. Criam muitos postos de trabalho;
3. Fáceis de transportar;
4. Variedade de utilização.
■ Desvantagens:
1. São muito poluentes;
2. São limitadas no espaço o que dificulta a sua origem nas diversas partes da Terra;
3. Podem causar desastres ambientais muito graves;
4. São rentáveis quando as reservas são muito grandes.
