Welcome JAGS!
I hope everyone has had a restful summer. We have been working
through the summer to get ready for the 2020-21 school year. This
year will mark our 10th year as a high school serving Salida and
Modesto. Academically, our test scores have demonstrated that our
rigorous curriculum, Small Learning Communities, and Block Schedule
have proven successful. Furthermore, we have the highest graduation
rate in Modesto City Schools and we plan to continue this trend.
Finally, I want to personally welcome our freshman, our Class of
2024.
CLAW (Classes, Lockers, and Welcome) is an orientation for every
incoming Freshman and new student. Students will receive their
school photo ID cards and their class schedule, in addition to
their locker. CLAW will take place on July 28th through the 30th.
This packet includes specific dates and times for the event based
on a student’s last name. So that we can keep appropriate social
distancing, it is imperative that students arrive at their
appropriate time. I look forward to seeing you at CLAW! Due to
restriction from COVID-19 returning students will not attend CLAW
this year, there is a online information packet for you to complete
and bring on the first day of school. Our school year begins
officially on Monday, August 10th.
Our focus at Gregori High School is rigorous academics and clear
communication with our parents and community. I encourage you to
utilize the Modesto City Schools’ Parent Portal to track your
student’s academic progress and attendance. Please do not hesitate
to contact teachers, counselors, or administrators via their
district email account. This information, and much more, can be
found at our Joseph A. Gregori website
(https://gregori.mcs4kids.com/).
Also, I want all JAGS to consider contributing to the Renaissance
Honor Roll Program by purchasing your place in history at Gregori
High School! The purchase of a personalized brick that is placed on
the Honor Wall at Jaguar Run goes directly into the fund that
supports our quarterly Honor Roll events. Please see the included
order form.
Enjoy your summer vacation and we will see you soon. Please come
prepared to learn, thrive, and make history!
Sincerely,
A Modesto City School

Bienvenidos JAGS! Espero que todos hayan tenido un verano
tranquilo.
Gregori (https://gregori.mcs4kids.com/).
hacer historia! Sinceramente, Derek Pendley Derek Pendley

Hello Jag Parents and Guardians!
As we prepare for the upcoming school year I would like to share
some information about Joseph A. Gregori High School’s dress code.
We strictly follow the Board approved Modesto City School’s dress

you are aware of the expectations in regards to dress code for your

throughout the school year. In addition, students are required to
carry their identification card while they are on campus.

beanies. Articles of clothing hanging over the shoulder or hanging
out of the pocket including towels. Solid red or blue items. Long
white socks worn with long shorts that fall below the knee. Attire
with “Nor-Cal, No-Cal, No-Cali, Nor Cali” or any reference to Cali.
Items with red stars. `South Pole’ attire Professional or
collegiate sports jerseys that is not appropriate team colors.

Gregori Students and Families,
Gregori High School has a Positive Behavior Intervention and
Supports (PBIS) program on campus that
teaches and reinforces positive behaviors both inside and outside
of the classroom. Mr. Gregori was a
man of great character and was highly regarded for his achievement,
loyalty, and integrity. At Gregori,
we have high expectations for all students and work to teach
students the same traits that Mr. Gregori
exhibited on a daily basis and reinforce them through our PBIS
program. As students demonstrate these
essential traits on campus, they are recognized and rewarded by
staff with one, two, or three electronic
PBIS points for their positive behavior.
Through a PBIS application, students are able to bank points and
monitor their accounts on a phone or
computer. From this application, students can also view the
inventory of our PBIS store that is open
every Friday during lunch. Students can use points they earned to
purchase gift cards such as In-N-Out,
McDonalds, Starbucks, and Yogurt Mill. The PBIS store also has JAG
swag that students can purchase
with their points that includes beanies, gloves, t-shirts,
pop-sockets, sun glasses, and decals. A popular
option for students is to submit their points to enter into a
weekly drawing for a larger item such as a
HydroFlask or AirPods. The PBIS program is well received by staff
and students and we look forward to
continued success.
