Hipstamatic Portugal Colectivo f4 - Porta 22

22 Países - 66 “hipstógrafos” - 202 “hipstagrafias” A aplicação Hipstamatic para iPhone tem tido um imenso sucesso, facto que se deve a um conjunto de circunstâncias: é utilizada por fotojornalistas como o caso de Damon Winter que publicou no NYT tendo ganho um prémio internacional com uma reportagem sobre a guerra do Afeganistão; é usada como forma de expressão artística por numerosos fotógrafos e criadores de imagens; serve de partilha ampla nas redes sociais como o Facebook; trata-se de uma aplicação muito apelativa por as variadas “lentes” e “filmes” proporcionarem imagens tão diferentes como espetaculares. Esta exposição e este livro surgem na sequência de alguns desafios que me foram colocados. Pois bem, em Outubro de 2011, com os amigos Carlos Vilela e Paulo F. levámos a efeito a 1ª exposição Hipstamatic em Portugal, na galeria do Colectivo f4 – Porta 22 no Porto. Esta exposição também já foi reposta na cidade de Viana do Castelo em Abril de 2012. Criou-se a página Hipstamatic Portugal no Facebook. Mas a propósito das muitas páginas dedicadas a Hipstamatic pelo mundo fora e da intensa interação entre os criadores de imagens com a aplicação, é de referir Roberto Murgia um dos vários ativistas na Sardenha que na rede propôs fazer-se uma exposição em cada uma das cidades congregando “hipstógrafos” de todo o mundo. Tempos depois, Luís Raposo um dos animadores do Colectivo f4 e da galeria Porta 22 no Porto, desafiou-me a pegar na ideia do Roberto Murgia e a organizar essa grande exposição. Mãos à obra e assim fiz. Cá está o resultado neste livro com 202 imagens de 66 criadores de imagens com Hipstamatic de 22 países, tão diferentes nos propósitos mas com uma rara e bela diversidade.

22 Countries - 66 "hipstographers" - 202 "hipstagraphies" Hipstamatic app for iPhone has had an immense success, a fact that is due to a set of circumstances: it is used by photojournalists such as the case of Damon Winter who published in the NYT having won an international prize with a story about the war in Afghanistan; it is used as a form of artistic expression by numerous photographers and image makers; serves broad sharing in social networks like Facebook and it is a very appealing app because of the varied "lenses" and "movies" which provide images as diverse as spectacular. This exhibition and this book arise as a result of some challenges that have been placed to me. In October 2011, with my friends Carlos Vilela and Paulo F. we carried out the 1st exhibition in Portugal, in the Hipstamatic Gallery of Colectivo f4 – Porta 22 at Porto. This exhibition has also been presented in the city of Viana do Castelo in April 2012. The page Portugal Hipstamatic was created on Facebook. And considering the many pages on Facebook devoted to Hipstamatic all over the world and the intense interaction among all the creators of images with this app, it should be referred Roberto Murgia, one of the several activists in Sardinia. Roberto proposed, in social media, an exhibition congregating "hipstographers" from around the world. One day Luis Raposo, one of the animators of the Colectivo f4 and Gallery Porta 22 at Porto, challenged me to pick up on the idea of Roberto Murgia and to organise that great exhibition. Hands on and so I did it. Here is the result, in this book, with 202 Hipstamatic images of 66 creators from 22 countries so different in purpose but with a rare and beautiful variety.
