Academy of Sciences (WBGCAS). Prof. Gituru has also successfully supervised numerous

undergraduate (B.Sc.) research projects to successful completion.

Prof. Gituru played an integral part in the formulation, solicitation for funding, and execution

of research and development projects. Key among these is the establishment of the Sino-Africa

Joint Research Center and JKUAT Botanical Garden (SAJOREC) in JKUAT, Nairobi Kenya.

7. External Examiner

Prof. Wahiti Gituru has served as the External Examiner for the Department of Applied

Biological Sciences in the Kenya Polytechnic University and for the University of Addis

Ababa in Ethiopia. In this capacity he examined both undergraduate and post graduate

examinations to ensure compliance with the set standards. Prof. Gituru served as the

Academic Quality Assurance officer in the Botany Department, JKUAT in which

capacity he assists the COD in maintaining a high standard of academics in the department.
