    Name: Felipe Vieira Camargo

    Student number: 2003 691 65

Course: Engineering Design and Communications (ENGG 123)

    Assignment: 3 (Design Assignment)

Task 1 (10 Marks) Generate a list of five constraints that apply to your project theme. The constraints

must be realistic, and they must serve a purpose. Identify the constraints, and indicate why they have

    been adopted.

1 - Preserve Quality: It is related to how many times kitchen grill can be used without the material it is

    compromised or frayed.

2 - No toxin release: When heated to high temperatures, will the kitchen grill release toxic substances in

the food? The project should ensure that no toxin is released into the food not to harm the human

    health.

3 - Efficiency: Taken into consideration how long it takes for food to be grilled and get ready

4 - Design: Irregular format, regular shape, flat t, big, small

5 - Material: Which type of material will be made the skillet? The most appropriate type of material to

manufacture the kitchen grill is iron, aluminum or steel?

Task 2 (10 Marks) Identify all of the relevant functions of your design project. This includes the basic

and secondary functions. When listing the secondary functions, specify whether they are required or

    unwanted and explain your answer.

The primary functions of the kitchen grill consist are basically:

    - Cook

    - Grill

    - Heat

    - Toasting

    - Bake

    - Boil

    - Gratin

    The secondary functions are:

    - Container - Keep the food inside of the kitchen grill. Required

    - Burn - If the customer forgets the food in the kitchen grill, will the food burn? Unwanted

    - Do not accumulate waste - After cooking the food in the pan, there will be accumulation of waste at

the edges and on the sides of the kitchen grill. Unwanted

    - Do not leave the food stick - Do not let the food made not to stick in the kitchen grill. Required

    - Heat distribution - Good heat distribution over the kitchen grill. It makes the food be ready faster.

    Required

Task 3 (30 Marks) Construct each of the following and explain the results:

In Matrix Evaluation Numerical above you can see that the most appropriate option, which most

accumulated points in checked indexes was the Kitchen Grill stainless steel. The "X" indicates that both

Kitchen Iron Grill as Kitchen Grill with circular shape do not have a good performance as an efficiency.
