Continuamos a seguir a ordem do Governador Baker e as Diretrizes
da Arquidiocese de Boston, que orientam todas as empresas e
organizações a fechar seus locais de trabalho físicos. Forneceremos
atualizações e orientações adicionais à medida que as informações
estiverem disponíveis. Obrigado por tudo o que você está fazendo em
apoio à Igreja de Cristo neste período incerto e difícil.

Fifth Sunday of Lent In this last sign, worked by the Lord
before His triumphant entrance into Jerusalem, everything seams to
flow to that ‘new reality’ inaugurated by Emmanuel, God with us.
Sharing our existence, Jesus had loved us with a supreme passion,
with that virginal love that doesn’t seek to possess the heart of
the other, but to love it in truth with delicate insistence right
up to sacrificing Himself for us. In this infinite delicacy and
attention to everyone, He was able to be moved by those who were
linked to Him by ties of the most profound friendship who
understood that it could not be anything but God’s presence amongst
them. ‘I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me,
even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in
me will never die. Do you believe this? She said to him, Yes, Lord.
I have come to believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God,
the one who is coming into the world. (Jn 11:25-27) It was Martha
and Mary’s faith, even when confronted with Lazarus’ death that
gave rise to the extraordinary miracle worked by Christ. This is
not only a consoling story narrated in the letters of the Gospel,
but it is also accessible to us today in the Church from the day of
our Baptism until when we are incorporated to Him by means of the
Spirit that He has given to us.

Igrejas fechadas: nosso lar também é casa de Deus
Para não agravar a pandemia de coronavírus, igrejas
foram fechadas, mas o nosso lar também é fonte de oração
Para conter a pandemia de coronavírus, seguindo as recomendações
das autoridades, estabelecimentos foram fechados, inclusive as
igrejas. Tal fator, causou revolta em algumas pessoas e em outras,
desespero. Afinal, no momento em que mais se necessita da
misericórdia de Deus, como estar em sua presença se as portas de
sua casa estão fechadas? Mas é preciso manter a calma. As
instituições religiosas parali-saram suas atividades, pois como
cuidadora do povo de Deus, a igreja possui a responsabilidade de
zelar pela comunidade, pre-venindo que o contato entre os fiéis
possa piorar a proliferação do COVID-19, inclusive devido à grande
parcela de idosos (grupo de risco) que frequentemente comparecem às
missas e eventos. Nosso lar também é casa de Deus
Existe uma frase muito utilizada por vários padres que é: “a
igreja começa dentro de casa”. Ou seja, mesmo que seja importante
com-parecer às celebrações eucarísticas, é dentro do nosso lar que
a evangelização, a oração e a fé começam. Dessa forma, que sempre
tenhamos em mente, que Deus se faz presente em nossas casas. Assim,
nessa época de Quaresma, em que – os que podem- se en-contram em
quarentena, é importante fazer o nosso lar, também casa de Deus.
Não há missas, mas há a oração sincera, não há en-contros, mas há a
união da família para rezar o santo terço, não há celebração
litúrgica, mas há a bíblia que diariamente possibilita a meditação
da palavra do Senhor.
