Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00pm

Consider inviting a friend, neighbor or coworker to Eucharistic Adoration. A person does not have to be Catholic, does not have to know anything about prayer, and does not have to make any personal com-mitment to come before Jesus in the Eucharist. The power of a few minutes of silence in the presence of Jesus is more power-ful than anything else we can do to help someone who is hurting. Do I truly believe this?

BAPTISMAL CLASS Friday, November 6th at 7pm

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated once a month on the second Saturday of the month at 2pm in English. The dates for the Baptism of children and for the Pre-Baptismal instruction of parents should be arranged in the parish office one month in ad-vance. Please register in the Parish Office if you plan to attend.

ALL SOULS’ DAY In this spirit, St. Thomas Aquinas will be offering addition-al Masses on All Souls Day, Monday, November 2nd. In addition to the 8am, we will offer Mass in English at 5:30pm and Mass in Spanish at 7:30pm. Please consider these additional Mass times as an opportunity to pray, worship, and be sanctified by our Lord.

Prayer for the Selection of New Pastoral Council Members O God, We ask you to send your Holy Spirit to guide our parish in the selection of members for our pastoral council. We are a parish that wants to do your will and carry out the mission Jesus entrusted to us. Help us find the men and women who will work with our pastor and guide us in our mission. We need men and women who will listen to the wisdom of the spirit and the needs of the people. We need men and women who are open to the ideas of others and who will work to bring us all together in unity as brothers and sisters in Christ. We need men and women who have a great love for you and for our parish. Continue to bless our parish so we can be a people filled with joy and faith as we live out our call to follow your Son, Jesus. My name is David Knieling and I am honored to be nominated for church council. I have been a parishioner of St. Thomas since 1996 when my family moved to Cookeville. My wife, Sarah, and I have two wonderful kids, James and Cooper. I am a banker with First National Bank. In the past we have volunteered with the parish youth program, LifeTeen. I

look forward to becoming more involved.

Bill Kreppner Hello

My name is Bill Krep-pner. I’ve been a mem-ber of the parish since 2007. Hurricane Katrina brought me to Cookeville. I was so warmly welcomed when I came to St Thomas Aquinas. I joined the Knights of Columbus and have been an active member since. Hopefully we will get past Covid and have the Big Breakfast again and get back to the scram-bled eggs I made. I have served on Parish Council before the Great Recession. I worked contract jobs so that I could come back to the place I love, Cookeville and St. Thomas Aquinas. I brought a wife, Michele back with me. I thank God for all the blessings he has given me. I accepted Fr Chads request to join the Finance Council. I left the Finance Council to take over Facility Mainte-nance. The last three years I have served as Co-Chair of the Fall Festival.

Rosa Martin My name is Rosa Martín and I have been an active member for the last 5 years. I moved here from Portland, Oregon where I lived for 7 years. St. Thomas Aquinas has a very special place in my life, being that I made my 1st Communion, Confirmation and received the Sacrament of Matrimony here in our parish of

St. Thomas Aquinas. God has blessed us with two beautiful children. Currently I participate in the community of San Sebastian Martir where I am the secretary of intentions. I am bilingual, I speak English and Spanish. I understand the Chuj language of Guatemala very well and can speak it a little.

I would like to be considered as part of the parish council because I feel that I am ready and prepared to be able to put into practice what I have learned and to be able to help in whatever way I can and give back to this wonderful par-ish that has helped me draw closer to God.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD Operation Christmas Child is just around the corner. This is the third year that we at St. Thomas Aqui-nas will participate in this wonderful program. You may pick up a shoe-box at the narthex area, starting on

Saturday, October 31. Our deadline to turn in filled shoe-boxes is Friday, November 22.

Operation Christmas Child is the world's largest Christmas project that brings joy and hope to needy children around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes and the Good News of God's love.

It’s a blessing to be a part of this ministry through Samari-tan's Purse to give shoe boxes filled with goodies and the message of Jesus to children in other countries!

I am originally from Guatemala, I thank God he gave me the opportunity to arrive in this country in 2004 after three months of arriv-ing here in the parish of St. Thomas Aquinas, I had the opportunity to serve as an altar boy with Father Peter and Father Don, then in 2008 I served as a Eucharist minister with Father Chad. To this day I continue to serve in the music ministry, I feel very happy to have made friends in the parish, many people have known me since I started serving God.

Now I would like you to consider my participation in the elections of the pastoral council to continue serving God and our community.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD National Collection Week

This year St. Thomas Aquinas will be the drop off loca-tion for all of Putnam County. Volunteers are needed to receive and pack shoeboxes into shipping cartons and load trucks during the third week in November. Somos una parroquia que quiere hacer tu voluntad y cumplir la misión que Jesús nos confió. Ayúdanos a encontrar hombres y mujeres que trabajen con nuestro párroco y guíanos en nuestra misión. Mi nombre es Bill Kreppner. Soy miembro de la par-roquia desde 2007. El hura-cán Katrina me llevó a Cookeville. Fui muy bien recibido cuando llegué a Santo Tomás de Aquino. Me uní a Caballeros de Colón y he sido un miembro activo desde entonces. Con suerte, pasaremos por Covid y tomaremos el Gran Desayuno nue-vamente y regresaremos a los huevos revueltos que hice. He servido en el Consejo Parroquial antes de la Gran Re-cesión. Trabajé por contrato para poder regresar al lugar que amo, Cookeville y St. Thomas Aquinas. Traje a una es-posa, Michele conmigo. Doy gracias a Dios por todas las bendiciones que me ha dado. Acepté la solicitud del P. Chads para unirme al Consejo de Finanzas. Dejé el Consejo de Finanzas para hacerme cargo de Mantenimiento de In-stalaciones. Los últimos tres años he sido Copresidente del Festival de Otoño.

Martin Miguel Hola, mi nombre es. Martin Miguel Soy casado, mi es-posa y yo tenemos dos her-mosas princesas. Soy origi-nario de Guatemala gracias a Dios me dio la oportunidad de llegar en este país en el año 2004 después de tres meces de haber llegado aquí en la parroquia de Santo To-mas de Aquino, tuve la opor-tunidad de servir como monaguillo con el padre Peter y el padre Don, luego en el año 2008 serví como ministro de la eucaristía con el padre Chad. Hasta hoy día sigo sirviendo en el ministerio de alabanza, me siento muy contento de haber hecho amistades en la parroquia mucha gente me conoce desde que empecé a servir a Dios.

Ahora quisiera que me consideren de la participación en las elecciones del concilio pastoral para seguir sirviendo a Dios y a nuestra comunidad.

PROYECTO CAJA DE REGALO El Proyecto Caja de Regalo está a la vuelta de la esquina. Este es el tercer año que nuestra parroquia participa en este maravilloso pro-grama. Puede recoger una caja de regalo en el área de reunion a partir del Sábado 31 de Octubre. Nuestra

fecha límite para entregar las cajas de regalo es el Domin-go 22 de Noviembre. Proyecto Caja de Regalo es el proyecto navideño más grande del mundo que brinda alegría y esperanza a los ni-ños necesitados de todo el mundo a través de cajas de za-patos llenas de regalos y las Buenas Nuevas del amor de Dios. ¡Es una bendición ser parte de este ministerio a través de Samaritan's Purse para dar cajas de zapatos llenas de diferentes regalitos y el mensaje de Jesús a los niños de otros países!

Violeta Juan Mi nombre es Violeta Juan. Me case en esta iglesia y hemos si-do bendecidos con dos hijas desde entonces. Soy maestra en el condado de Putnam County y me da gusto ayudar a los niños de nuestra comunidad.

Ahora, busco servir de otra manera en nuestra iglesia. Estoy agradecida con Dios por todo lo

que hace en mi vida y espero usar las habilidades que El me da para servir a El y la comunidad.

María Chavez Mi nombre es María Chavez, soy miembro de St. Thomas desde hace 19 años. Estoy ca-sada, tengo la suerte de tener dos hijos y un nieto. Tengo el honor de ser ministro extraor-dinario y coordinadora del mismo durante cuatro años.

Me encantaría tener la opor-tunidad de trabajar con el Pa-dre Chris para mejorar nuestra parroquia. Ayudar a acer-car a las familias a Dios y me encantaría ayudar a las co-munidades a unirse para trabajar como un solo cuerpo de Cristo.
