SISTEMAS PASSIVOS DE AQUECIMENTO SOLAR
GANHOS INDIRETOS (elementos opacos)
As chamadas “paredes Trombe”
Durante o inverno, o lado escuro do prisma capta a energia solar
refletindo a luz solar, evitando sobreaquecimento.

SISTEMAS PASSIVOS DE AQUECIMENTO SOLAR: regras gerais para edificações
residenciais

The neighborhood consists of 80 private building lots, with individually designed houses conforming to an overall urban design scheme formulated in the master plan and by-laws. A pedestrian character is maintained within the neighborhood fabric through the use of “woonerf”-type streets with vehicular access, and separate paths for pedestrian access only.
View within neighborhood
Neighborhood plan
Building lots are clustered in groups of four, with each lot containing a point at its outer corner on which the individual house must stand. In this way, public paths are tightly defined by the protecting walls of adjacent buildings, while open space at the center of each cluster allows for private gardening and a free flow of cooling breezes. Water-intensive public landscaping is kept to a minimum.
Clustering concept
Aerial view with building shadows
The plan’s provisions ensure solar rights by limiting the height of each building in relation to the winter sun, and in this way restricting the shadows cast on the adjacent lot to the north. An imaginary "bulk plane” sloping upward at a prescribed angle from the adjacent lot's southern setback line defines the volumetric limits of the building or any other obstruction, guaranteeing that each house has full solar access throughout a winter day.
Solar access protection
View from south in winter
Vehicular streets are oriented along an east-west axis. While maintaining a pedestrian character, they are wide enough to separate between neighboring north and south lots, making it easier to ensure solar rights.
Pedestrian walkways, on the other hand, are oriented north-south. Only 2.5 meters wide, they are shaded during morning and afternoon hours on a summer day by flanking walls and vine-covered trellises.
North-south pedestrian path
East-west street
In addition to climatic considerations, the design of Neve-Zin is distinguished by a common design language, which specifies building morphology, geometry of openings, and finish materials, and encourages a cohesive neighborhood fabric.

RESFRIAMENTO POR VENTILAÇÃO
