Negócios, turismo, indústria, comércio, enfim, cada ramo de atividade está pleno de possibilidades. A par disso, o Estado conta com alguns tópicos especiais, pois é o portal da Amazônia. De flora exuberante e riquíssimo em água, é um dos pontos onde a natureza se apresenta plena, bela e pujante.

É este Tocantins que vamos apresentar em alguns aspectos em seus atrativos turísticos: ecoturismo e aventura, cultural, negócios e eventos, pesca esportiva e, finalmente, roteiro de sol e praia. Não esgotamos nesta revista todo o potencial do Tocantins em cada uma das áreas, mas é suficiente para que se tenha uma idéia da grandiosidade de oportunidades e belezas deste mais novo Estado da federação brasileira.

TOCANTINSDesenvolvimento Natural

The State of the Tocantins is the new state of Brazil and has the energy

to develop in all the sectors. Businesses, tourism, industry, commerce,

at last, each branch of activity is full of possibilities. Along with this, the

State counts on some topics special, therefore it is the vestibule of the

Amazônia. Of exuberant flora and riquíssimo in water, he is one of the

points where the nature if presents full, beautiful pujante e.

It is this Tocantins that we go to present in some attractive aspects in its

tourist ones: ecoturismo and adventure, cultural, businesses and events,

fish esportiva and, finally, script of sun and beach. We all do not deplete

in this magazine the potential of the Tocantins in each one of the areas,

but it is enough so that if it has an idea of the grandiosidade of chances

and beauties of this new State of the Brazilian federacy.

No Tocantins é difícil separar a aventura do sentido de ecoturismo. A exuberância dos atrativos é de tal grandiosidade, que a simples visita a alguns desses pontos já é suficiente aventura para a maioria dos visitantes. Mas para quem busca a aventura numa versão hard, há muitas opções, tanto no ambiente de serra quanto nas águas. Riachos caprichosos, cachoeiras exuberantes, dunas de areia casadas com límpidos rios, cavernas e maravilhas esculpidas pela água ou pelo vento.

Em todos os recantos, sua aventura tem como moldura a beleza de pássaros e pequenos animais, uma flora riquíssima e generosa no ofe-recimento de frutos especiais. Experimente os cajus, a cagaita, a man-gaba e tudo o mais que o cerrado, pleno de vida, tem a oferecer.

Ecoturismo e Aventura

In the Tocantins it is difficult to separate the adventure of the ecoturismo direc-

tion. The exuberância of the attractive ones is of such grandiosidade, that the

simple ones visits to some of these points already is enough adventure for the

majority of the visitors. But for who search the adventure in a version hard,

has many options, as much in the environment of mountain range how much

in waters. Capricious streams, exuberant waterfalls, sand dunes married with

limpid rivers, caves and wonders sculptured for the water or the wind.

Palmas e TaquaruçúA Natureza é particularmente generosa em Palmas, apresentando ampla gama de atrativos, resultantes da condição de relevo na região da capital, um misto de vale, serras, rios, lago. É famosa pela quantida-de de cachoeiras. Cachoeira do Evilson Forma uma piscina natural, de águas frias

e cristalinas, excelente para os adeptos dos

banhos de cachoeira. A água se precipita, em

uma festa de espuma, por um paredão de 50

metros de altura, propiciando em sua base uma

piscina com aproximadamente 20m de compri-

mento e com profundidade média de 3m. Para

os adeptos da aventura radical, proporciona a

prática de rapel.

Tudo isso emoldurado pelo colorido típico de plantas e flores.

09Cachoeira do RapelLocalizada em região de conformação original, a Cachoeira do Rapel conta com espaço para acampamento. A área é protegida por mata fechada, e apropriada para quem deseja estar em inteiro contato com a natureza em sua pureza original. A densidade da mata traz como resultante um clima úmido, com pouca luz, perfazendo um microclima especialmente agradável. É permitida a prática de rapel e recomen-dada para quem quer vivenciar muita emoção.

Waterfall of the Rapel Located in region of original conformation, the

Parque CesamarA região central de Palmas pulsa ao ritmo de um coração verde chamado Parque Cesamar. É uma das principais áreas ver-des da capital e conta com uma excelente infraestrutura. Ali o visitante conta com pista para corrida e caminhada com 2.840 m, um córrego represado em lago (é permitido passeios de canoa), que em seu escoadou-ro serve uma piscina (é permitido o banho).

Os que preferem esportes que propiciem mais adrenalina podem usufruir da pista de skate ou da pista de bicicross, fazer uma trilha ecológica em mata natural ou, ainda, exercitar-se nos aparelhos de ginástica à disposição do público. Com tanta ativi-dade, claro que há um bar e restaurante onde os heróis podem refazer-se, sabore-ando sucos e comidas regionais. O Parque Cesamar conta ainda com playground, que os pequenos adoram.

Cesamar parkThe central region of Palms beats to the rhythm

Cachoeiras do Vale-do-vai-quem-quer A natureza costuma ser pródiga em diversos sítios de grande beleza, mas no Vale-do--vai-quem-quer excedeu-se em todos os sentidos. O curso d’água que banha o vale desce em quedas, formando 12 saltos, cada um com sua correspondente piscina, imitando uma escada de águas, onde o visitante pode escolher o ambiente que prefere estar ou percor-rer todos eles. A descoberta de suas particularidades e encantos é excelente recompensa. Todos contam com águas límpidas e cristalinas, próprias para banho e são emoldurados por uma flora exuberante.

Caprichosa é o mínimo que se pode dizer da natureza que imprimiu, na região de Ponte Alta, tão diversas quanto encantado-ras atrações. Basta dizer que ali é o portal do Jalapão. Destacamos aqui pontos aos quais é imprescindível fazer uma visita.

Cachoeira SussuaparaTodos sabem que água mole em pedra dura tanto bate até que fura. Em Ponte Alta é diferente, pois a água não bate a pedra, e sim a acaricia. O resultado desse encon-tro de água e pedra pode ser visto na Cachoeira Sussuapara, onde a água, no correr dos tempos, cortou a pedra e hoje corre em seu íntimo, trazendo ao visitante o prazer de observar estreitos cânions úmidos e cheios de encanto.

Mateiros

Em plena região do Jalapão, Mateiros tem tudo para quem busca, em primeiro lugar, a aventura. Sua vastidão convida ao infinito, mas indicam também a necessidade de acompanhamento por um guia ou condu-tor local. É altamente recomendado para quem queira viver grandes aventuras e altos níveis de adrenalina.

DunasDe repente a paisagem modifica-se radi-calmente e pensamos ter entrado em um portal geográfico que nos levou ao Saara. As dunas de areia fina e avermelhada, com mais de 20 m. de altura são cercadas por veredas que lhes dão um aspecto único. As cores do arenito e das areias dão o tom predominante que fazem do pôr-do-sol uma composição cromática única. Imprescindível sessão de fotos e/ou filmagem para que o visitante possa levar imagens da impressio-nante composição de cores e texturas que caracterizam a região das dunas.

Dunes

Serra do Espírito Santo/MiranteEspecial para quem busca desafios, a su-bida da Serra do Espírito Santo oferece trilha selvagem com subida íngreme para uma caminhada de aproximadamente 1h. Contudo, o prêmio para quem se aven-tura é altamente compensador, pois do alto da serra se pode descortinar uma ampla parcela do Jalapão e divisar suas impressionantes particularidades. Com uma caminhada adicional de 30 minutos, chega-se a um sítio de onde se divisam as famosas e impressionantes dunas do Jalapão. Imprescindível a utilização de veículo com tração nas quatro rodas.

Cachoeira do FormigaNa Cachoeira do Formiga o tom predo-minante é o verde, tanto na flora que a emoldura quanto na água, que apresenta tons de esmeralda, imitando jóia líquida. A particularidade do tom esmeralda da água deve-se à presença de calcário, que aflora próximo à nascente.

Explica-se o fenômeno pela pressão de um pequeno rio que brota à superfície naquele ponto, onde o solo arenoso não resiste à pressão, permitindo que aconteça uma fonte natural de efeito efervescente. Daí o nome popu-lar: “Fervedouro”.

Povoado MumbucaPonto de cultura histórica, o povoado Mumbuca guarda reminiscência do qui-lombo e segredos do “ouro vegetal”. Seus habitantes especializaram-se na produção de peças artesanais, tendo como matéria prima a palha do buriti e o capim dourado, nativo na região. Nas peças fabricadas em capim dourado estão impressas as tradições dos habitantes, integradas ao conhecimento indígena, que se revela na costura das peças.

Corredeiras do Rio Novo (rafting) Adrenalina em altas doses. É isso o que vivenciará o visitante do Rio Novo que se aventurar na prática de rafting por suas corredeiras. Além de apresentar a rara característica de ter águas 100% potáveis, o Rio Novo, nascido nas veredas da Serra Geral, apresenta em seu leito mais de 50 trechos de corredeiras.

Cachoeira da VelhaA Cachoeira da Velha é deslumbrante, seja pela sua conformação, em modelo de dupla ferradura, seja pelo impressionante volume d’água a que dá vazão. Não é possível o banho na Cachoeira da Velha, mas é um ponto de cartão postal, onde a placidez da água na parte superior contrasta vivamente com o ritmo vertigi-noso e revolto com que despenca por um paredão de 15 metros de altura e continua seu caminho pelo leito de pedras.

Prainha (Rio Novo)A Prainha fica no mesmo Rio Novo que comporta o rafting, mas em outro trecho muito menos acidentado. Local bucólico, é excelente para o banho, em águas límpidas, margeada por fina areia branca. O toque final é dado pela vegetação exu-berante, que apresenta a beleza do verde e da policromia das flores.

O relevo em São Félix do Tocantins tem as mesmas características de Mateiros, apresentando a natureza nos mes-mos moldes, mas com características próprias.

Serra da CatedralA Serra da Catedral é um monte rochoso, esculpido pelo vento e pela água, resul-tando em um maciço finamente esculpido, cuja imagem sugere uma catedral com seus detalhes, entalhes e frisos. Na Serra da Catedral pode se observar interessante particularismo de vestígios de dunas reco-bertas. Mais um capricho da natureza.

Povoado do PrataOs habitantes do Povoado do Prata também são remanescentes de quilombolas e vivem em comunidade. Tratam a terra e dela tiram seu sustento, seus utensílios, suas ferramentas. Por essa razão espe-cializaram-se na confecção de artesanato que tem como matéria prima as folhas (e a seda) do buriti, bem como do capim dourado. Visita obrigatória para quem queira compreender um pouco mais da vida simples integrada à natureza.

Fervedouro do AlecrimO Fervedouro do Alecrim apresenta tam-bém o fenômeno do rio subterrâneo que emerge em terreno arenoso, perfazendo um forte jorro d’água que se mistura à areia, dando a impressão ao banhista que é uma água efervescente, onde não se consegue afundar.

A região da Lagoa da Confusão é riquíssima em atrativos, principalmente aqueles integrados à flora e ao elemen-to água. São muitas as opções.

LagoaA lagoa que dá nome à região é natural e apresenta formação de praias ao seu redor, contando com cerca de 4,5 km. de diâmetro e profundidade média de 3m. A flora e a fauna são notáveis, pois a grande oferta de água atrai muitos animais, sendo a flora beneficiada em sua variedade. O visitante conta com boa infraestrutura em termo de hotéis, bares, restaurantes, loca-ção de barcos, visita à “pedra encantada” e outros serviços. Nada se compara a um mergulho nas águas da lagoa, dado sua temperatura agradabilíssima.

Projeto QuelôniosO projeto Quelônios é uma iniciativa de proteção ao ecossistema, onde eclodem os ovos de Tartaruga Tracajá e Tartaruga da Amazônia e os filhotes permanecem em berçário até que ganhem resistência à maioria dos predadores e possam ser soltos nas águas do rio Formoso. O projeto está em funcionamento na Fazenda Praia Alta.

Quelônios project The Quelônios project is an initiative of pro-

tection to the ecosystem, where the eggs of

Turtle Tracajá and Tartaruga of the Amazônia

come out and the younglings remain in nursery

until they gain resistance to the majority of the

predators and can be untied in waters of the

river Formoso. The project is in functioning in the

Farm High Beach.

Lagoon of the Birds In the Lagoon of the Birds a phenomenon

lagoon, home of hundreds of birds, rare species,

Lagoa dos PássarosNa Lagoa dos Pássaros acontece um fenômeno que impressiona a todos os que vão conhecê-la no período de junho a setembro. A grande quantidade de peixes fez dela uma lagoa exótica, lar de centenas de pássaros, inclusive espécies raras, o que transformou-a em um grande viveiro. Essa exuberância em pássaros, por sua vez, atrai outros tantos animais, seus predadores, como os jacarés. A grande oferta de peixes, em quantidade e variedade atrai, por sua vez, animais como a capivara. Excelente local para observação de pássaros e animais. Não esqueça sua câmera, pois há tanta beleza, que se torna imprescindível tomadas fotográficas e/ou filmagem.

Parque Nacional do AraguaiaO objetivo do Parque Nacional do Ara-guaia é a proteção e conservação de uma amostra do ecossistema de transição entre cerrado e floresta amazônica. Abrange o terço norte da Ilha do Bananal e partes dos municípios de Pium e Lagoa da Con-fusão. Ali se pode visitar a natureza e ter contato com espécimes muito particulares da flora e fauna.

National park of the Araguaia The objective of the National Park of the

Araguaia is the protection and conservation of

a sample of the closed ecosystem of transistion

between and Amazonian forest. It encloses ter-

ço north of the Island of the Banana plantation

and parts of the cities of Pium and Lagoa of the

Confusion. There if it can visit the nature and

have contact with very particular specimens of

the flora and fauna.

Ilha do BananalEsta é a maior ilha fluvial do mundo, formada em seu contorno pelos rios Araguaia e Javaés. A ilha estende-se por 320 quilômetros, com 55 quilômetros em sua largura máxima. À época das cheias (setembro a março), a ilha tem 80% de suas terras inundadas. A Ilha do Bananal é considerada um santuário ecológico, já que está localizada em uma região de transi-ção dos ecossistemas cerrado e floresta amazônica. Ainda no interior da caverna, podem ser vistas, em seu teto, raízes que abraçam rochas.

Nesse con-texto, o próprio Palácio Araguaia pode ser considerado um monumento, pois enfeixa em sua arquitetura elementos referenciais à história do Tocantins. A Praça dos Girassóis é ainda o eixo referencial geográfico da cidade, dividindo-a em regiões Norte, Sul, Leste e Oeste.

Palácio AraguaiaO Palácio Araguaia é uma imponente obra de arquitetura arrojada que abriga a sede do Poder Executivo do Estado do Tocantins. Com quatro pavimentos (um no subsolo) e 14 mil metros quadrados de área construí-da, demonstra a grandiosidade do poder. Os arcos que apresenta são referência à Igreja de Nossa Senhora dos Pretos, erguida em Natividade. Sua localização geográfica demarca o centro do plano diretor de Palmas.

Casa Suçuapara Trata-se da casa sede da fazenda Triân-gulo, onde se construiu a capital. A Casa Suçuapara foi o local onde, em 1990, foi declarada a instalação definitiva da capital. Tornou-se então, o abrigo do primeiro governo municipal de Palmas. Foi tombada em março de 2005.
