Carlos estava to empolgado! Nesta linda

manh de vero, ele e seu pai iam para o

marcado comprar um burro! Que divertido ser

brincar com um burrico! E o burro ser umaajuda para seu pai, que trabalha tanto!

Carlos was so excited! On this beautiful summermorning, he and his father were doing to the

market to buy a donkey! What fun he would have

playing with the donkey, and the donkey would

be a help to his hard-working father.

Aps a compra, Carlos e seu pai

montaram no burro para uma viagem

tranqila de volta a sua fazenda.

De repente, uma menina veio a frente

apontando o dedo para Carlos e seu pai e

exclamou: Que maldade! O pobre do

Burrinho tem que carregar vocs dois! So

muito pesados! Podem ir saltando!

Todo envergonhado, Carlos falou:

Deixar que eu salto, pai. O senhor pode ir

montado, eu sei que voc est cansado.

After their purchase, Carlos and his

father mounted the donkey for a relaxing

ride back to their farm.

Suddenly a young girl stepped forward,

pointed a finger at Carlo and his father andtaunted, How cruel! The poor donkey has

to carry you both! Youre too heavy! Get off

of him!

Embarrassed, Carlos said, Ill get off,

father. You ride the donkey. I know youre

tired.

E eles seguiram em frente: Carlos

contente guiando o burro, e seu pai montado.

Que vexame! Gritou uma lavadeira na

direo dos viajantes. Este homem estobrigando seu menino a andar enquanto ele

vai montado! Que vergonha!

Todo envergonhado, o pai saltou do

burro, colocou Carlos montado e seguiram

em frente.

They continued on. Carlos happily

leading the donkey, as the father rode it.

How cruel! screamed a washer-woman

at the travelling trio. That man is making

his poor boy walk while he rides the donkey!

How disgraceful!

Feeling ashamed, the father got off the

donkey, placed Carlos on it instead, and off

they went.

Quase a sada da cidade, Carlos e seu

pai seguiam cantando alegremente quando,

de repente...

Olha s!, berrou o ferreiro, aquele

menino est obrigando seu velho pai aandar. Que falta de considerao. Salte j

desse burro e deixe seu pai montar, menino

mal-educado!

Sentindo-se humilhado, Carlos

escorregou do burro e seguiu caminhando

com seu pai, cada um de um lado do burro.

Nearing the edge of town, Carlo and his

father were happily singing when

suddenly

Look! yelled a blacksmith That boyis making his old father walk! How cruel

and inconsiderate! Get off the donkey, and

let your father ride, you ill-mannered boy!

Humiliated, Carlos slipped off the

donkey, and on the either side of the donkey,

Carlos and his father walked on.

Ha, ha, ha! Vejam s que ridculo!

Carlos e seu pai se depararam com um

homem apontando-os para um grupo depessoas.

No posse acreditar! Pai e filho levando

o burro para passear ao invs de mont-lo!

A essa altura, o pai de Carlos estava

furioso!

Ha, ha, ha! What a ridiculous sight!

Carlos and his father turned to see a

man laughing and pointing them out to a

crowd of people.Its outrageous! This father and his son

are taking the donkey for a walk instead of

riding him!

Carlos father was now upset!

O que que vocs querem? No

importa o que faamos, vocs nos tratam

com desprezo e desrespeito! J que no

podemos agradar a todos, vamos fazer o que

ns achamos ser o certo, e no vamos ligarpara vocs, seus intrometidos! E assim,

Carlos e seu pai montaram no burro.

Hee-haw, exclamou o burrico

alegremente e disse: No se pode agradar a

todos o tempo inteiro!

E felizes, trotaram para fora da cidade.

What do you people want? No matter

what we do, you treat us with contempt and

disrespect! Since we cant please you all,

well do what we believe and feel is right,

and well disregard your busybodybehavior! And with that, Carlos and his

father hopped on the donkey.

Hee-haw! said the donkey happily,

adding, You cant always please

everybody!

And merrily they rode out of town.
